What will you drop into the Salvation Army Bucket? UPDATE

  • FLBill,

That was a very generous donation to a cause that you deem worthy. I hope that next year is even better than this one for you!

It is unfortunate that there are plenty here who are so negative about this, but I found out the hard way that some people can't see that. I tried to do something nice for a group that I belong to a couple of years ago. I had some stickerrs made to commorate the event and instead of trying to make a profit from them, I decided to donate the money (all of the money including the $150 that I paid to have them made) to a charity that has already been beat up on this post. I didn't have a set price for the stickers, I simply asked if they were willing to make a small donation. Some people gave me so much crap over my choice of charity, that I will never attempt to do that again!

I still donate to causes that I deem worthy, but I don't want to attempt to ask others to do so because they can't just politely decline if they don't want to support that charity, they feel the need to tell you how horrible your good intentions are!
I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

$1300? I might just call them and offer to buy it back!

Florida Bill, Congrats on your generousity. You gave to one of the best charities in our country (if not the world). But, of course you probably knew that. They are my favorite charity.

Nice Job Florida Bill, Just saw the news scroll accross the bottom of the screen on CNN Headline News, then checked and there it was on the CNN Website I thought Platinum was a little higher than that, of course it did not say that it was slabbed, that could cause a drop in price (seems to have worked for ebay).

"Salvation Army officials also have reported getting an Indian head gold coin in Barre, Vermont, one-ounce American Eagle coins in Prescott, Arizona, and Fargo, North Dakota, and a Lady Liberty coin in Grand Island, Nebraska, among other unusual coins."
