More Photoshop Madness - VIP Sacagawea

And let me tell you how mad this is. I took this Sacagawea and put it on a black lacquer piano and did a gradient on the shadow to darken the end and I also made a copy of the layer, then moved it ever so slightly to blur it which is what I also noticed in the actual reflection of the coin. It's not perfectly crisp but rather just a tad blurry.

So, it's official. I'm bonkers.

John

John, very cool! I always enjoy your posts. The one you made a few days ago with the obverse/reverse shots arranged vertically was particularly nice.

I would like to start playing around with coin photography in the near future myself so I enjoy your comments on equipment and setups. Keep 'em coming!

If I read this right the reflection is from the Piano and not photoshop? I know you can do that in photoshop also.

Edited: If I had to live in Japan full time I might be doing the same crazy things.image

  • Becoka,

No it's all Photoshop. What I meant to say clearly was that I stood a real Sacagawea up our piano to see what the reflection looked like and tried to emulate it in Photoshop.

    claychaser,

I can do it with anything. These were head on shots that just had a "Transform Perspective" done on them.

  • No 3D stuff from me. I'm not that smart.

However, I will look into it.
