Just for crap and giggles, in no particular order:

1-Brian Urlacher
2-Reggie Bush
3-Troy Polamalu
4-Chad Johnson
5-Larry Johnson
6-Shawne Merriman
7-Roy Williams (both of them!)
8-Shaun Alexander
9-Edgerrin James
10-Ray Lewis

Guys that are obviously bad like Eli Manning, Vince Young, Matt Leinart, etc. can be omitted...

    Polamalu is a beast when he's 100%.

Carson Palmer comes to mind, #1 pick, Heisman winner, one of the highest paid QB's in the league. Horrible stats, team in last place.

Its hard for me to overrate players due to the team concept. Last year Randy Moss is on this list, this year he could be MVP.

Carson Palmer, geesh you know nothing about football if you believe that.
  • Chad Johnson?

    Shawne Merriman?

    Wow.

Calling someone overrated or underrated is based on what you know about other peoples perceptions, not what you know about football

    Polamalu is a beast when he's 100%.

I watch the Steelers every single week, believe me. He over-pursues on almost every play. He's not great in coverage. He's just like Roy Williams (of Dallas) to me. A big hitter with a big rep. Ever since he's signed his big deal, he doesn't play when he's nicked. He doesn't provide guidance to the younger players on the sideline when he is hurt and not playing and I'm still pissed they gave him big money and will probably let Alan Faneca walk after this season!

The entire Cowboys football team - they suck!

What is Johnson best known for? His dances and his contrived TD celebrations. 'Nuff said. What has he, or his team done, with all his greatness?

What is Merriman best known for? His steroid test and his getting bowled over by a 5'7" running back in Jones-Drew...

They actually have some underrated players, if you can believe that! I dislike the Cowgirls as much as you, but Romo is actually underrated, IMO...

What has he done to warrant Peyton Manning money? Im not saying he is talentless, I'm saying giving the ungodly contract he signed combined with some of the best WR's in the game he has done little.

Im a diehard Steeler fan also. I agree he over-pursues at times but he makes his fair share of plays also. His style creates alot of problems for offensive coordinators. Hopefully Faneca gets resigned, huge mistake if he doesnt!

My comment was to him, calling his stats horrible. If he thinks his stats are horrible then he indeed knows nothing about football. Understand?

Roy Williams (cowboys) isn't overrated anymore. He takes tons of heat for the deep balls he gives up and the camera finds him after big runs. I haven't heard anyone talk about how great he is since midway through last year. Only that he can't cover and that he shouldn't have been to the pro-bowl.

I also don't think he was this bad a couple of years ago, but that's a different argument.

I don't think Carson Palmer is their problem. It's their two loud-mouthed receivers that continually yap when they really have nothing to yap about...

living here in the chicago area people go balistic when the see urlacher on a list like this. he can be a force but in my opinion it is only when he has DT in front of him that can shield him. yes he is fast and that makes a lot of the plays for him. but for a what a 8 yr vet he still cant get himself disengaged from olineman. thats why his production just drops when he doesnt have th DT in front of him to eat up the blockers. right now its easier to run at him than away from him. you play to his strength doing that and your linemen wont get to him. smash them up the middle and he is toast most of the time. now his fans will say that his play is suffering from his back injury. well if its so bad why doesnt he sit since their season is gone. but he had this problem when he first came into the league until the got two massive tackles. but when they let them go his play and defense declinced until Harris came along. last year harris got hurt (still not up to speed0, tank got arrested and released, and the bears let two other DT's leave. and he is back to being good but not the def player of the year type player. so he does get a vote, though i dont think the most overrated.

right now bush might be pushing him for that. before vick's troubles i would have voted for him.

Yea, you might be right but I'll never admit it publicly. LOL

I like the fact they are in the playoffs - gives me something to root against. LOL

I agree with the Merriman comment. He has been a total non-factor in the several Chargers games I've seen this
year (vs. Pats, Colts, and one other I don't recall).

    What about Eli Manning??
Oh, wait. He's not over-rated. Everyone already knows that he sucks!
