Though I really like a lot of DCarr's designs, this is not one of my favorites.

I don't hate it- in fact, I rather like the concept- but the model's posture looks stiff and unnatural.

And on the version with the torch, the torch is too small, so it looks as though she squeezed her ice cream cone too hard and caused its contents to squirt upwards.

Instead of a spear and a torch, she should be holding a cell phone and a credit card. It's time we work in the modern symbols.

A very unnatural pose. Almost looks like the head is on backwards.
The body is soulless and not much better than a stick drawing of a person.
The rest of the coin is ok.
The problem is the body is so distracting, it destroys the rest of the coin.

Overall grade: F

Appears to have been done by a child.
Mr. Carr needs to study the human body.

Wow that was crazy harsh, it is so far more than I could do, I could not offer up that kind of criticism.

I agree with the first two points, but wouldn't go an F. I do think that's a tad harsh.

I'm sure after the Hal Turner fun and games, though, Mr. Carr can handle it.

BTW, I prefer the "sunburst and globe" concept to the "industry" one with the gear on it. But both are okay, as concepts. More realistic modeling of the human figure, and these would be pretty neat. In fact, seeing some classical throwbacks like fasces and seated ladies in a modern coin design is kind of nice.
