(dial up warning)My wife goes to the flea market while I'm at work.....

And she comes home with this. She doesnt know much about coins but she loves toners. Said she thought for $10 it couldnt be that bad of a deal. The toning might not be for everyone but I liked it when I saw it.

I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Do you think it could 66?
There were several PCGS and NCG slabs around when we were both there last weekend but nothing caught my eye as a great deal.
She said the seller didn't like the toning and told her he was taking a loss on the coin.
She's happy to see "her" coin getting such nice comments from everyone.

I'm just envious of you for having a wife who actually appreciates coins and would buy one herself, for more than face value!
You're in a very small, lucky minority there!
<< <i>I know this will set off a firestorm, and that is not my real intention, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how that coin grades at MS65. I like the toning, but the grading standards for MS65 include original mint luster, which I have a hard time seeing. The reverse looks beautiful but the obverse not so much... >>
Hey, I'm Joe and I feel very much the same as you do as far as grading a coin is concerned. But for ten bucks, there ain't much to complain about. Someone probably spent close to twenty $ to get it slabbed. If they grade higher than a 66 with toning is when I have a problem with grades.
Now that might set off a firestorm
I picked up a few toners of my own recently but usually refrain from posting them because it can sometimes be hard to tell AT from NT. But this was one of the few instances when even if someone doesnt like toning I think that everyone can agree that it was toned in the roll.

You have a great wife. She knows a deal when she sees it ! I would have probably snatched it up for that price, too.

You can't just that from a picture. Lighting to get the toning right might not show any luster. I'd bet that the luster on the obverse looks just like the luster on the reverse.
