Found this one on ebay. Now I KNOW you can't grade a coin based on pics but unless there's some detail under that toning I don't see how that could be a MS-65...I'm new so maybe I'm missing something. If I'm going to pay 2000 bucks for this coin it wouldn't look like this.... Now with that being said, if the seller of this coin is on these forums, I am not bashing you, I'm stating a fact that I don't like the coin and wouldn't pay $2000 for it. The reason for posting this is due to LeeG's statement about "They can be found very nice, but you'll pay for it". Just validating his statement..... Lata Todd
...I used to own a SPECTACULAR PCGS 64 electric neon rainbow rim toned Gettysburg. I picked it up at a small local show for $425 a number of years ago. Then like an idiot, about two months later, I decided to sell it on Ebay for $625 thinking I'd rather use the money elsewhere...and also thinking that $200 was a pretty sweet profit for two months. Well, someone hit "But It Now" literally less than 5 minutes after I posted it...obviously more in-tune with the toned commem market and realizing that $625 was a STEAL for that coin! And now it's gone. I keep hoping it'll resurface somewhere.....but I know if/when it does, I probably won't be able to afford it anymore. It was unbelievable! (sigh) One of my "I NEVER EVER should have sold that coin" stories. (sigh)
SeattleSlammer, Back in the 80's and early 90's it was possible to find a couple superb gem raw nicely toned Getty's a year doing the show circuit. The Internet being a powerful tool for seeing what's available in the numismatic marketplace from your armchair... has also proved how scarce any nicely toned gem early commem really is. P.S. Your not alone... I've taken many train rides to Idiotville myself having sold coins that I just couldn't upgrade upon if I tried to buy them again!
