(edited)Sorry to trouble you...but...I HAD an ebay/paypal question...it has been resolved...

OK... I just had some auctions end on Friday... only had one multiple lot winner... as luck would have it, my "My Ebay" page went on the fritz just as the auctions were ending... so I was unable to send invoices directly from ebay...
I had to send them by clicking on the emails I received from ebay to "Send Invoice"... this method would not allow me to send a combined invoice to this one buyer. I sent two individual invoices and put no shipping charges on the second invoice...
Then, yesterday when the "My Ebay" page went back to normal, I sent a combined invoice with my apologies for the confusion...
Somehow, at this point, I just knew I was going to have a problem with this buyer...
Anyway...payments have been coming in from other winners and I sent out many packages yesterday.
So...this morning I find this email, thru ebay, from this buyer... he has over 1200 FB...100% and is also a seller... so I am a bit perplexed...
"I don't understand this part that says seller requires confirmed address. then add credit card, which I did and it comes up that this credit card is already registered with paypal. Now it won't let me go any farther. How do you think you are going to get paid with this DUMB checkout.(signed...his name)"
Now...with his 100%FB and being a seller and on ebay for quite a while now...this does not quite add up...
I sent him a polite reply...let him know that the check out is not mine, it is ebay/paypal... also mentioning that his address must not be verified and that he should check his account...
...unless he has only bought from sellers who do not block unverified accounts, this should not be the case...but what else could it be?
I also told him I accept Checks and Postal MOs...
Have not heard back from him yet...
Anyway...I am considering removing the Conf. Address block so he can send payment but I also don't think that is a good idea...
Anyone have some thoughts or suggestions?
Thank you...

Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free

Either way, he shouldn't give you any problems... It isn't like you have dropped off the face of the earth on him. I hope it works out for you both.
Turns out, I just got an email from the buyer along with PP payment...
Apparently he is travelling for business and had entered his temp. address into PP acct...
He switched back to his regualr address and sent payment... now he says the items will have to be forwarded to him...but that it was OK... he apologized for the confusion...
Now I feel like a grinch...he is OK, yet my fear got in the way... after all the "war stories" I have heard here on the forum, I take all the precautions I can with ebay/paypal...
In this case, I was going to do as jesse suggested but now do not have to...
Oh well...all's well that ends well...
We now return you to your regularly scheduled and unscheduled postings...

Yes it's easy to get caught up in the war stories. I have my paypal set to ask before accepting payments from unconfirmed addresses. I get 10 or 12 a month and accept 99% of them based on the customer's ebay feedback and paypal history. the one thing you have to worry about is a hijacked account so learn how to recognize them. I sometimes send an e-mail with a question designed to reveal any hijacking tells. But the bottom line is 99% + are honest so trust your insticts if you have good ones, and you probably do as a successful coin dealer. --jerry
