So I picked up the coin in the old holder. Put the holder aside and give your honest thoughts on the coin. Sorry for the images as they are quick shots.

Nice coin. There appears to a scratch to the right of mouth on the observe. Other than that it is a nice looking coin.

MS63 to 65. The photos are just too dark for me to really see detail and luster that well. It's a nice UNC coin though.

MS 64!! It would have probally gone 66, but the hit in front of the mouth kept it down. Love the Barber series

Hair looks a little weak under LIBERTY, but I dont think it's wear. A few little dings , but the coin has fabulous eye appeal. My guess is 64.

The coin is MS. I did not get the coin from Mark Feld or Pinnacle. Local dealer had it.

For some reason i'm going to guess that mark is not post mint, it might be something embedded in the coin from the mint (a small piece of wire or a foreign piece of metal?)
Maybe Liberty sneezed?

my knee jerk was 63 with great pop!

could easily see it 64.

That doesn't look like damage to me either.

I'm glad the toning is actually brown rather than purple. Purple on a Barber PF can often be explained by the tissue in which the coin was kept. All too often, purple toning on an Unc. silver coin = AT. Surfaces look too clean for a 3 grade. Is the luster muted?

Luster really dances around the coin in hand. My how grading has changed? The dealer who sold it to me thought the coin would upgrade if resubmitted. Needless to say I did not get the coin at MS63 Ask. There was a premium. Personally I think the coin is a beauty. I have seen my fair share of these dimes. Most of the 3's look like crap. This one is really nice. Oh and it not dipped out either.
