That is a "Crystalline" insert from the 1995 Pacific Triple Folders Football set.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
It does include the autographs most of Steve Young coaches, including head coach and College Football Hall of Fame member, LaVell Edwards.
And it includes the autograph of Steve's younger brother Mike Young. Mike pretty much followed Steve in life, taking up Steve's paper route (which was also handed down to the girls), and being a QB at BYU.

Three different printing proofs of the 1989 Pro Set Steve Young from the set given away at the Super Bowl, plus a normal one. I paid too much for these I think.

Couple new interesting (at least to me) Young items.
The first item is from the Topps Store...my first purchase from Topps.
"1998 Stadium Club Leading Legends Original Match Proof Photograph. Steve Young. This exclusive eBay auction features an original color correction match print photo created and used in this set's production process. Original in every way, this photo stock match print measures approx. 5" X 8" and is in excellent condition. Match print even contains original production notations. Also included is the original mock-up templete taped onto the reverse of the photo. For added authenticity, the official Topps serial numbered hologram is affixed onto the white reverse side backing board." Have not gotten this yet, but Topps e-mailed me three times it was shipped, so I am guessing it is on the way.
Here is what the card ended up looking like. Note it is clear on a black background. The scanner kept wanting to cut it up without the backing. Will try a series of overlays sometime to fix this.
The next item is a 1999 Bammers Bear with an upside down 49ers logo. See what happens when you make your NFL bears overseas.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Here is my coolest Young item from the last week. A National show badge that features a 1995 Pacific Cramers Choice Award...one of the best inserts every made. Interestingly it is a 1995 card, but has the 1996 Anaheim National Show logo and mentions it is good only for the 1997 show in the print at bottom. As football cards come out late in the year it is likely for the 1996 as the logo indicates.

I've wanted one of these for a while. There is a stub in an eBay store for like $39.99, but I found this one a couple weeks ago in auction. The title had a major misspelling and it was started at $0.99 so I managed to score it for under $10.
Steve Young's last BYU game....and what a game Young had. BYU against the University of Missouri.
(stolen from wiki)
Missouri scored first with a 2 yard touchdown run from running back Eric Drain giving the Tigers an early 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, BYU quarterback Steve Young scored on a 10 yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7. Missouri's Brad Burditt kicked a 37 yard field goal, as Missouri took a 10-7 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, BYU came up on top, thanks to a 33 yard touchdown pass from Steve Young to Eddie Stinnett giving BYU a 14-10 lead. In the fourth quarter, Eric Drain scored on his second rushing touchdown of the game, a 2 yarder, for the Tigers to take a 17-14 lead. With just 23 seconds left, Steve Young gave a handoff to Eddie Stinnett. Stinnett then turned around and passed it back to Steve Young, who caught it and ran in for a touchdown, giving BYU a 21-17 win.
So Young ran, passed and caught a TD, while scoring the game winning TD in the final minute.

Great pickup Mark. I love finding stuff like that.
Managed to pick up a 1982 Holiday Bowl ticket to go with my 1983....this one however is used, but it was under $5 with shipping.
Young's first bowl game was not as kind as his second. Ohio State led BYU 17-10 at halftime, but an 18-yard touchdown run by Tim Spencer, his second of the game, helped the Buckeyes build a 34-10 lead.
Spencer finished with 169 yards rushing and was named the game's offensive MVP. BYU quarterback Steve Young completed 27 of 45 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns. Ohio went on to win the day 47-17.

The 49ers became Steve Young's team in 1991, but it never really was his team.
After getting injured in the NFC Championship Game in January 1991, Montana missed the entire 1991 season.
This 1992 American Bowl preseason game might have been the much anticipated return of Montana, who had not played in a year and a half, and Mark Rypien, who had just settled into a new contract. Fittingly, the cover features Mark Rypien and Joe Montana. However, Montana would not play again until a Monday Night Football game vs. Detroit Lions at the end of the 1992 season, which would be his last game as a 49er.
In the 7th annual American Bowl game played at Wembley Stadium (London), the 49ers rallied to win 17-15, when Mike Cofer kicked a 48-yard field goal as the clock ran out. Mark Rypien only played the first quarter, typical of pre-season games. Not really sure when Young left the game, but he was sacked in the end zone during the second quarter. Steve Bono finished the game bringing the 49ers into kicking distance in the last minute of the game.

Have been working at getting tickets stubs to Bowl games Steve Young played in. Will worry about the Super Bowl tickets last...because interestingly, they are the easiest to find. Young played in the 1983 Holiday Bowl, the 1984 Holiday Bowl, the 1984 Japan Bowl, 4 Pro Bowls and then 2 or 3 Super Bowls. (I know he finished one of Montana....maybe two). I don't imagine anyone would know of any others?

Got a couple more Young Bowl tickets today. These are to the 1998 Pro Bowl.
The 1998 AFC-NFC Pro Bowl was played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on February 1, 1998.
In the first quarter, Steve Young completed a 22 yard touchdown toss to wide receiver Herman Moore of the Detroit Lions. The AFC came back to tie it on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Jacksonville's Mark Brunell to Kansas City’s Andre Rison's. Young countered driving the NFC 71 yards in seven plays, culminated with a 36 yard touchdown toss to Arizona wide receiver Rob Moore. On the scoring play, Young faked a reverse to Minnesota receiver Cris Carter, then dropped back in the pocket and threw a perfect pass to Moore, who was wide open. Before the half, the NFC went up 21-7 when Green Bay running back Dorsey Levens scored from 12 yards.
In the second half of the game, Atlanta's Chris Chandler took over for Young and the AFC scored the only third quarter points with a pass from New England's Drew Bledsoe to Jackonsville's Jimmy Smith. The fourth quarter started with a field goal for each team, giving the NFC a 24-14 lead and 8:51 remaining. Experience took over when AFC's quarter Warren Moon completed a 57 yard pass to Oakland's Tim Brown and Tennessee's Eddie George scored on a 4 yard run with 2:31 left. The AFC decided to go for two, but the conversion failed and the NFC still led, 24-23. But, on the NFC final possession, Chandler fumbled an exchange turning the ball over. Moon capped the comeback on a 1 yard quarterback sneak with 1:49 remaining. The final score was 29-24. Warren Moon, who was invited to participate only because of an injury to John Elway, was named the game's MVP.

A topic in another card forum was talking about rare football promo cards and mentioned the 1998 Pinnacle Stand Up Guys. Pinnacle folded and the product was never released. Have no ideal how rare or not rare it is but this is the only Steve Young (Jerry Rice/Terrell Owens) I have seen. I found in it a large lot of Pinnacle Promos I purchased off eBay once. There is a 1998 Pinnacle Stand Up Guys with Favre on eBay the seller has priced at $49.99.

Got my Super Bowl XXIX tickets today....thank you eBay bucks, which paid about half.
Super Bowl XXIX was played on Sunday, January 29, 1995 at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami, Florida between the AFC League Champions, the San Diego Chargers (13-6), and the NFL League Champions, the San Francisco 49ers (16-3), to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion following the 1994 regular season. In this match-up, the 49ers defeated the Chargers 49-26, earning the team it's fifth Super Bowl Championship. 49ers quarterback Steve Young, the '94 Most Valuable Player (MVP) award winner, threw six touchdowns, three to Jerry Rice and three to Ricky Watters, while completing 24 of 36 passes for 325 yards. Young was also the game's leading rusher with 49 rushing yards. This is the first time that both teams scored in all 4 quarters of a Super Bowl and the combined aggregate score of 75 and the 10 total touchdowns are Super Bowl records. Young's six touchdown passes is also a Super Bowl record.
