As a side note---be really careful with that glass. With all that weight behind it, even a little tap on the side can make it let go and that is some lethal glass with those cents pushing it outward. I have had one of these break on me and it came so close to cutting my leg off. I switched all my 5 gallon jars to plastic.
ending tomorrow night at midnight, keep those guesses coming, so far all over the board but at least one right answer already. After picking that thing up I don't think I want to put any more in but it is kind of neat to think about the pennies on the bottom were put there by me back in 1980 or so.(kind of a history timeline going on in there)
Anyone know where someone can pick up a 4 or 5 gallon jug like shown in the OP? I've been looking for a few months and havent found one yet. Same reason my baskets, bowls and cups of pennies are getting out of hand.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

I have 3 of these jugs at home- 2 are used in the same fashion- copper in one , 25/10/5 in the other, and saccies and sba;s in the last one.
i'm waiting till they all hit 90 lbs- before I count em out.
I used to have a 5 gallon glass jug that was filled preety good with all kinds of change. Then one day I went to pick it up, and the bottom broke off clean. Had a big pile of change on the floor.
IF you cannot find a glass jug, get a plastic 5 gallon water jug. That is what I am currently using now. In this manner, you can have 5 gallons of water for drinking, and a jug for your change.
Went to Sam's Club in Latham, NY on Saturday. They had 5 gal jugs of water for about 10.
Many grocery stores will sell them as well. In fact, Target sells empty ones for about 7. to 8.

Different thinkness of glass could come into account.
Then figuring the volume of bottle and number of Lincolns to fill. Weight of said Lincolns.
