I didn't think the coin was strictly MS but with the luster and color that the coin has i thought for sure that it would be given the bump. If you paid even remotely close to AU-58 price, you suck!
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!
Originally I was going to say 58, as there is a touch of cabinet friction on the hair curl, however I have seen coins with less luster and more friction in MS holders.
I'm gonna give it a shot and say MS-64. I'd say 65 or even 66, but the strike is a wee bit too weak on the drapery & some parts of Lib's hair. A beautiful bustie, nonetheless...

So you think it's correctly graded at 58...?
Can you elaborate on why and thanks for the input... >>
Like I said earlier, it is very difficult to grade MS or near MS Busties from pictures. I downloaded your pictures onto my computer, and blew them up. I thought I noticed too much difference between the left star area field, and the main left obverse field. Maybe too much action in the open field. There also appeared to be activity on Miss Liberty's neck area. The strike looks to be about as expected for the marriage, the reverse being stronger than the obverse. Both dies were new for this marriage.
The black plan streak might also have caused a downgrade to AU 58. Personally, I avoid buying coins with black plan streaks, they just turn me off.
You have the coin in hand. If you feel it is indeed MS, you should submit it to PCGS for crossover. The added value in the PCGS holder alone would be well worth the submission expense.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
Terrific coin at the right price level. I really like the luster. The grease spot shows the care in the dipping and then retoning. A collection of AU coins that look like this would be both affordable for many and not likely to depreciate in the wrong side of a cycle.
Good eye, Mozin. If I've said it once I've said it 1000 times.... technically graded AU 58s are without a doubt, some of the most beautiful coins around.
With that being said, it's my humble opinion that 58 is really being a bit harsh. Man, this coin is a Beauty that just won't quit. Granted, it's darn near impossible to grade a coin from a one dimensional image, but WOW!
Hat's off to Mozin and maybe the graders nailed it but I don't "see" a 58 here, at all.

I 'll give you ms 60 money right now. LOL
I believe NGC got the grade right on this one. Just a STUNNING coin though!!!
A beautiful bustie, nonetheless...
How'd I do?
C'dude
Its very hard to tell without having the coin in hand but could it be a weak strike instead of wear ???
Alan
eddited to add: the dark spot behind liberty's head may have held it back too.
The more I look at the coin, the stronger my thoughts go towards weak strike MS coin, there is a lot of luster.

That one has flash, I surely would say it's a keeper!
Nice find...

I'm not a crossover/crackout type of guy and will leave it "as is" for now...
I bought the coin and will keep it in this plastic just to protect it when I'm handling it...
Mozin... The grease streak is super original in my eye's and adds to the coin but I can see both sides of the coin so to speak..."-)

Much higher.
Originally, I was going to say ms64, before the grade was posted.
I think you could argue both cases.
Overall, it's just a great looking coin and I sure hope you paid au58 money for it.

at a 65 if that was tha grade.
