Would you store your coins in a bank safe deposit box that turns off A/C and heat every night?

The only bank I could find in town that had safe deposit boxes open (other banks had a waiting list of about 6 months) turns off their heating and air conditioning at night and on the weekends to save money. Should I be worried about keeping my personal coin collection there? Should I move my coins into a bank that keeps a more constant temperature?

They're slabbed and in bags. Not much is gonna happen to 'em
unless you're in Death Valley or Yuma.
I would worry about them getting extremely cold like on the
exterior wall of an unheated building. The primary danger
is probably condensation as cold coins warm up.
isn't much climate changing going on in there. Keep em the way you have em, and make sure you have some silica gel in there.
that look ugly and oily are the ones that were in contact with the bag. Just a heads up....

edited to add: They were stored in a Las Vegas home with less than average humidity and air conditioned.
<< <i>Store them at home.. then you are in control. Remember, those monthly fees add up.. and you are paying for your coins over and over and over again. Cheers, Ricko >>
Right on! ....buy a GOOD safe, bolt it to the floor, and enjoy at home...just don't use plastic zip lock bags!!

local coin dealers told me I was nuts at the time to collect BU red lincolns in Miami, which is probably why I was able to buy them cheap when they came on the market.
most dealers in Miami did their best to unload them as the humidity and heat were murder on the coins.
my coins were not slabbed, but in an album. I dont recall the brand of the album but it had sleeves that held strips of the coins. darn, I wish I could remember the name???? I sold the coins in 2000 here in Los Angeles and all were still bright red.
I do not know if the bank vault was air conditioned or not. but I can tell you this--- I visited the vault and opened the box rarely, only a couple of times a year.

Remember FDR's bank holiday ????
25-35 dollars per year is more like a normal price for the small to mid sizes.
since i own gold i even throw a few sticks of incense in there to make them
smell fresh/clean and hope for some odd toning :-)
<< <i>I'm not sure if I'd worry about slabbed coins, but yeah, I'd like a little more climate control for my raw coins. >>
Slabs are not air-tight. I would worry about them too.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
