I would say $10, 569.44 +/- $10,000. Of course there would be the expense of gum and dirt removal fees to consider. Oh, I also forgot the chiropractor fees also.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
I found a dime on the sidewalk yesterday. When I got home and took my keys out of my pocket, the dime fell out onto the ground. I briefly considered leaving it there for someone else to find. Perhaps that's how I ended up with it in the first place, someone leaving it for me to find.
Metal detectorists think about that kind of thing pretty often. But if you don't metal detect, you probably can't grasp the number of coins that are in the ground. There must be tens of billions in this country alone. Maybe hundreds of billions.

I always pick of coins I see on the ground. Perhaps (as suggested) being a metal detectorist has something to do with it... but I never pass one up. Cheers, RickO

Last year I found a $20 bill on the ground.
It was raining pretty intensly at the time and I was picking up some Japanese food to go... as I was walking from the parking lot to the restaurant, I noticed a folded up bill in like a 1" puddle of water... I thought it was just $1 (still worthy of taking 5 seconds to pick up) until I actually picked it up and saw it was a $20! There was no one else even remotely nearby, so I figured it probably just fell out of someone's pocket as they were pulling out their car keys (it was neatly folded over twice)...

I find money all the time on our Main Street where I work......snagged a $20 tumbling down the street at 6 am the other day, and find small change every day........

I remember hearing some statistic that stated that like, one oout of every 5 coins gets lost in the ground.
At the Denver and Milwaukee ANA shows, there was a clever exhibit entitled, "The Streets are Paved with Gold." For a year, the exhibitor's family picked up all of the change they found on the street, and then bought a gold coin with the proceeds.
