all you need is the right grader. keep resubbing and you will get a Gem!! especially by today's halfass, hobby-killing standards......damn that's a nice Rose tho!
You need to measure the borders at the largest point top left and the smallest top right(68/32). I dont think you will be thinking straight 9 any longer. I would say 8, which anyone would take over that 9OC. I would take the 9OC over a 7 on that card. Nice card no matters what happens.
the first card is a 9(oc); it doesn't measure at least 65-35 on the front but it's close.
the second card is an 8; it measures better than 70-30 on the front.
I agree with the comment that a straight 8 would be better than a 9(oc) which is a flaw in the garding system in some respects. Two cards could have identical centering and one could have better corners/surface, a higher numerical grade and get a lower total weighting with respect to the registry.

I checked SMR and see why you're asking. $1750 vs. 275 on a straight 8 NQ. The OC probably kicks it below that figure too - probably around the $175-200 range.
I don't mind OC cards because I collect for fun and remember that's the way they came - especially in the 1970s when Topps quality control was too stoned to care. Others though won't touch OC cards - which helps me some.
