<< <i>These are some of the worst looking cards I have ever seen. If his name was not at the bottom of the card, I would have had no idea that was Ray Leonard. One would think that for a premium product they could have gotten a better artist. >>
I was thinking the same thing, that is suppose to be Sugar Ray??
<< <i>I have to agree with the person who said this may end up resulting in another modern card crash like it was in 1990. I can't believe how much they are asking for a pack of that stuff... I'd much rather buy a vintage star.
Check this out, this is exactly why I am staying away from this set with a 10 foot pole.
First, please check this link out for this 2007 Sport Kinds Jackie Robinson card.
Can someone explain why the autos/relics aren't in the classic Sport Kings style? I mean, that's the whole appeal, and their big cards don't even utilize it. What a ridiculous decision. I'd *much* rather collect TTM autos on the base cards than fight for the pack autos.
Hell...maybe I will...
Edit to ask: wasn't there an Upper Deck set that also used the Sport Kings design? Can someone point me in the right direction?
<< <i>Ok, nevermind I went to the Sport Kings website to see what they said about them:
It says: "Badge of Honor" A tribute to baseball pioneer, Jackie Robinson. The Badge of Honor stunning cards feature pieces of emblems worn on Jackie Robinson Day."
Thats pretty sad to say the least. I can't believe someone is going to pay $250+ for this card. >>
I had the 1st post on this thread, and most of you think I did OK with the box, as other box outcomes looked pretty bad. Here is the financial breakdown on a "good" box. Box was $390, but I had a $200 door prize to spend. The sale prices on the cards from the box was: Hogan $23.02 Andretti $20 Ferrigno $11.51 (thanks Perry) Roy $9.95 White $32.00 Mattingly $49 Clemente $118.05 Total was $263.53 before shipping and Ebay/Paypal fees. Just about broke even on a HALF PRICE BOX. Glad I didn't pre-buy any of this, BTW, being unliscensed, would PSA grade any of these???

Hmm...
Crazy, modern cards are going to be the demise of this hobby. Hacking up relics for cards to absurd prices. >>
that is AMAZING...
so now the card companies themselves are buying cheap crap patches off ebay and putting them in cards and calling them valuable!
damn i feel bad for modern collectors....must suck being you.
Hell...maybe I will...

It went for $585.
Loves me some shiny!
I may pick up a base Ryan card or something, but at almost $400 a pack, there's just no way.
Even if I went modern with that kind of money, I'd rather buy like 4 Hobby A&G Boxes or something.
Box was $390, but I had a $200 door prize to spend.
The sale prices on the cards from the box was:
Hogan $23.02
Andretti $20
