What are your thoughts on this Merc?

(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.
(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?

<< <i>The seller states, "may have had a light cleaning in the past." Juding by those photo's I'd say it had a pretty heavy cleaning. Look at all the hairlines in the reverse field. >>
Thats what I thought. Hey I might be gettin a bit better at this.

Sellers that sell coins know darn well whether a coin has been cleaned or not. Treated it as a cleaned coin and pass on the auction because the price is way too high for that coin.

i bid one dollar, melt.
It is difficult to tell from the pic how lightly or harshly cleaned it is. Remember, Mercs of 1916 and 1917 have
textured fields which can make a coin look like it has been cleaned when it actually was not.
Anyway lonelyp, it's a common enough date that you can keep looking and find one that you are
positive has not been cleaned.
