Graded Silver Eagles

I noticed that PCGS graded 20th ann. silver eagles in either 69 or 70 re going for sevral hundred dollars. The question I have is that if I purchase one, would the coin necessarily rise with the price of silver or is it independent? Is a purchase at these prices recommended? Thanks for your help.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Any of the SAEs that are priced at several hundred dollars will go up or down independent of the silver market. >>
Bochiman is correct.
Another example, PCGS graded MS60 - MS62 non-key dated Saint Gaudens Double Eagles have lost most of their numismatic value and are now valued on spot gold.
I was quoted the following 'buy' prices from a dealer on spot free PCGS/NGC graded Gold Saints today.
MS61 - $830
MS63 - $870
MS64 - $975

The 20th Anniv ASE's are not tied in to the silver bullion price, but collector demand. This issue just recently bottomed out & is rising again in value. PCGS Slabs with the "First Strike" designation will demand a substantial premium over the non first strike label. The rev. prf is the more expensive, followed by the MS(except for the F/S MS70) & last but not least the Proof. Good luck...
The ones that survive without falling victim to milking, will always gain IMO.

Maybe this is by design.

Those prices are sight unseen. You include a decent photo which adds $155 to the total.
