Undergraded flying eagle? What do you think?

When I bought this one for my Dansco 7070 I thought I had overpaid, but now I'm not too sure. At the very least it is nice for the grade. What do you think it should grade? I'll show the tag after while.

I'm going to say it's graded 58, because not many people crack 63s out to put in a Dansco, whereas a lot of people crack choice AUs.

I believe it is the Large Letters variety, as the A is touching the M in AMERICA.
I had one similar in appearance (but slightly darker) to this that PCGS slabbed MS62.
Since I had bought it raw from a dealer at $5 over AU bid this worked A-Ok image

Actually it was in an ICG AU53 holder. From the photographs it looked better than any of AU58's in NGC or PCGS holders so I paid right at AU58 money and am glad I did.

This was the first small cent and they had problems with its strike due to its metal composition. This coin is fully struck - this coin's detail in the eagle's tail is far better than that in most Uncs. I've seen - and I'd guess that it would grade MS 63, maybe even MS 64.

Fully struck flyers are scarce, and I might add that many Uncs. come spotted and / or with unattractive color. OTOH, this coin has nice color, and only a minimal spot near the E that you see when the coin is magnified 10 times. Though I think it has too many marks to go 4, I think it might get a bump because of its overall outstanding eye appeal.

I was going for a 55, maybe 58 for the weak strike.

    Nice coin though.
