1949-P Franklin Grade opinion please

Comments

  • 64 FBL ... Leave it raw and do not dip it. Toning is rather blah...
  • There appears to be breaks in the luster on Ben's hair, so I would grade it AU-55. It does look to be FBL and I like the dark toning on business strike Frankies. Nice coin!

I agree with two of the previous posters. The coin is uncirculated MS63 quality with FBL. I am not a huge fan of the toning, but maybe the pictures just do not show it well. In any case, I do not feel it is a slab-worthy coin.

I've got two sets of unc Franklins in dansco and US Mint albums. I love to look at them that way. Have you considered that route? I think your coin would look great in an album...image

If it's got decent luster 65fbl, otherwise 64fbl. Basic mint set toning that doesn't do much for me. I wouldn't bother slabbing it, as if it slabs 65fbl you've covered your grading fees but if it doesn't you've lost money.

I'll take all these you want to sell me at AU55 $$$. Coin is a 64FBL or better (depending on luster)

Toning is jsut so so, very typical for 49 mint set coins.

  • I would say by the pics MS64 FBL. Toning is common mint set. Not a big fan of the toning

I'd be happy with the toning.

    My guess...ms65 FBL

    Stefanie,

Put me in with anyone who guesses MS64FBL but the toning doesn't do anything for me on this one. Nice coin though.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I think my lack of photography skills causes a problem. I apologize for that. I tried one more time in some daylight with indirect lighting as well.
I think the colors show much nicer(true to in hand) but still not a sharp image.

  • Nicer color in those pics. Still going with 64 FBL
