bag with coins and who knows what. Something small like
that might do you. I've seen people walk in with a PCGS
Blue Box in hand, fanny packs, brief cases, pull behind suit
cases.

never, never let it out of your hand , or your sight.
Not for a second. For in that single instant of distraction,
will be the very moment the unseen hand will strike, to your
very great consternation.

Coins in a brief case, Glock 31 in Fobus Holster under jacket on R side, extra mag/tac light on L side, and most importantly keen situational awareness at all times. Don't be another victim. There have been too many already!

Same here. Only works if you are carrying a small number of coins.

<< <i>I carry them in a rolling backpack, and make sure my policy with Hugh Wood has the appropriate Gold Coverage. I figure that is way cheaper than an attorney after you get arrested for shooting somebody, or even worse getting shot. Someone shows up and wants them, I figure they just got sold. >>
Of course, no material thing is worth anyone's life. That said, if you can legally carry, and your life or someone else's life is placed in immediate (and in some states unavoidable) danger, you are justified in using lethal force. DEFINITELY better to have the option than not. MANY people are killed after being totally compliant with the criminal. My father for one killed someone in Balto. City who was attempting to rob him and my mom at gunpoint, very close to the Balto. Convention Center (where the big Balto. show is). He had no legal problems whatsoever. In fact Balto. City Police and the Prosecutor's Office could not possibly have been more helpful and supprotive to our family than they were. This is the rule much more so than the exception in a clearly justified use of lethal force situation.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. At least have the training and the option to defend yourself.
Anyway, I have no intention to turn this thread into a Second Amendment or other political debate. I just wanted to raise a very valid point regarding the original question surrounding how to carry valuable items into shows, often in high crime cities.
