Ray, if you hear any news on this please pass it along. I'm curious and I'm sure others are, as to how this plays out. I hope his lost material is eventually found and that he gets it back.
My 4 year old boy has been sick, so I haven't seen Vic until today. His Machine Shop auction is tomorrow, and I went to his house to talk to him a bit. After we'd worn down the auction subject, I asked if he had any news on the gold coins that had come up missing. He said he found them. He had taken them inside the house trailer and covered them with his sweater and forgot he'd done it. He thought he'd left them on the golf cart seat. Whew! We both had a laugh about it, but I'm sure he wouldn't have been laughing if he hadn't found them.
One poster was talking of cars being stolen from the employees' parking lot. Years ago for a period of years, my place of employment was plagued by a car thief. Eventually we had a full time armed guard constantly patrolling the parking lots in a 3 wheel putt putt with radio communication with home base. Still the thefts continued. I was thinking that somehow it was an inside job. WRONG! One day our guard spotted the thief and fired a shot at him, which evidently was greatly exceeding his authority. In the hushed-up uproar that followed, all guards were permanently disarmed. Thus the I figured the parking lot was now safe for all car thiefs, but we were never bothered again. So evidently he did not have a pipeline to the inside after all.
The story about the parking lot guard is so typical of this PC age..... many years ago, he would have been shot and the guard would have received a commendation. I miss those days. Cheers, RickO

hmmm, maybe I should leave my coins under my sweaters.....don't have a golf cart to leave them in and sounds like they were safe even from the owner
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
Glad no one "rounded up the prime suspects" right away. For some reason, I had a feeling they were misplaced but, all said, am glad they were found.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
And to all that immediately blamed the carpenters. Tsk, tsk, tsk. For shame, for shame!
I'm genuinely happy for him that he found them and was able to laught about it.
Must be that "Old-Timers' Disease."

<< <i>So this entire thread was a waste. Glad it turned out for the best. >>
It was probably not a waste. I'm sure a lot of the people who used to leave their gold coins on golf carts don't do that anymore.
