Im not much for knocking teams or players.
In baseball, anything can and usually does happen.
Still.....
I cant remember a time when so much went wrong so fast.
Horrible pitching from 2 aces.
Horrible hitting. Even Lofton cooled off a little. Though his first series was totally off the charts. Some of the best I have ever seen. Timely hitting, doing it without power.
I think it is weird that as soon as I heard about the champaign tasting thing. Everything went downhill from there.
Up 3-1 killed them. Bizzzzzzaaaaaaarrrrrrrrreeeeeeeee!
Good season though. Sooooooooooo close!
I really thought after they manhandled one of the best lineups in history, the Yankees of course. They were destined for the Big One. Any team who can shut down that lineup over a series did something right.
To bad for the Indians fans, another tough one. Close, but not meant to be I guess.

Sure we can point fingers at Skinner, Hafner, etc.....but they did not play the final 3 games like a calm and relaxed team. They looked like they were playing to prevent their own elimination from game 5 on.

Even though they were leading 3-1, they did so by winning once in extra innings and once against a knuckleball pitcher who couldn't keep his pitches low
Even up 3-1 they still had to go out and outplay the best team in baseball for nine innings
Losing to a top team is not choking

I can, and unfortunately it happened to my team against the very same Red Sox a few years back

Except they were down 3-0.
As far as the Indians go, they were doomed in that Sabathia was terrible in both games, sporting a nearly 11 ERA. Team ERA for Cleveland was nearly 7. Team batted barely over .250 and OBP of barely over .302. The entire team outside of Casey Blake essentially slumped at the same time.
<< <i>Still beat the Yankee's!!!! >>
That's right!
