I've seen NT 38 Ds with color like that, though they're typically in MS 65 & better holders. This one looks like an AU, so I would expect to see luster breaks along with the wear on the coin.
"Vou invadir o Nordeste, "Seu cabra da peste, "Sou Mangueira......."
if you look at the color progression on the rims, especially on the reverse between 12 and 5 where it's most vivid, it definitely appears correct for NT
good blending from color to color in the fields
each dominant color typical of color seen on buffs
I know most of you think this coin is NT, but I'm not so sure. Oranges and blues are often seen on this particular date, but something just doesn't look right in my opinion.

Colors look fine to me. I'd say nice MS65 common date. I've bought several coins from that seller, he finds nicely colored ones. I"ve never had a single one fail to get certified, though at times a grade below his estimate. My 28D MS65 (my avatar) was from that seller, bought raw for $350 last year. Looks fairly standard for a buff album toner to me.
The 38's that I have seen usually have popping luster. this coin appears to be a bit dull in that category. I'm wondering if it hasn't been a little overdipped and then aquirred some secondary toning, AT or NT.

See the above comments? These are REASONS why I think it's NT. Everyone that's spouting off about AT should give some reasons to support their statement....not just, "well, you know, it just looks off to me" or "gee, my ear is twitching a bit this morning so I'm feeling like it's AT." Overdipped?!? Riiiiiiight JJ. Again, please give some reasons to support your comment.

Maybe you need a course in reading comprehension. I stated in my post, I though it may be overdipped, because it is lacking the luster usually seen on this date.......Don't take things so personally. It's my oppinion, it's allowed to be different from yours. If I saw the coin in person, I might change my oppinion.

JJ, perhaps I do need a course in reading comprehension. I did miss that part. But in my opinion, from the photo at least, it looks like it has plenty of luster. And I wasn't taking things personally, I was asking people to give some support to their arguments. Like I wrote, if I'm wrong, convince me! For the record, I still think you're way off about the overdipped comment.
Some of the buffalos don't have the luster, these 3 are from the same roll but one of the 3 has a lot more then the other one's have. The tone will not let the luster show like a brite white coin so you need to think of that to.

I beg to differ sir.

I agree with SeattleSlammer. Its NT. Looks like it did some time in a Dansco album.

I agree. This one ain't the real deal IMO.

Yes, that's it. The luster is muted (or at least it is in the image).
Hoard the keys.
