Got out for a bit this morning and of course hit my dirt pile's
It didn't look good as there wasn't any new dirt in thereSo I
decided to work the ground outside the dirt pile's as some of the dirt
may have been dropped when reloading it and some goodie's may have been dropped
there as well.
Man was I right, after digging up a few nails, bottlecap's and even some chunk's of iron
I get a real good solid hit that was about an inch or 2 under the surface.
I dig the hole and recheck to see if my target is still in there, nothing
so I check my little pile of dirt and there it is.
Run my pinpointer through it and buzz on the target. As I clear away the dirt I
see part of a silver disc??
First thought it was a quarter and maybe a seated quarter??
Boy was I wrong, the first thing I noticed after cleaning some of the dirt off
was the 2 pillars.I was like no way I just found my first reale!!
I could feel my leg's start to do the chicken danceand then the rest of my body followed,
and no you would not want to see me doing the dance
After cleaning it up some more I saw the date,it is 1795,this is also my oldest coin find now.
The coin size is between a half and a quarter,so I think this is either a 1 reale or a 2 reale if somebody
could let me know??

Millennium after doing some research I saw where to look for it's marking's
and I saw a 2R,so I believe that is a 2 reale.

What is going on is Pg&e is doing some work in the old part of town,so what there doing is just busting through a small area and then digging down real deep and taking the dirt over to a empty lot until there
done with there work and then taking it back to fill in the hole.
Thank's BentFork and I like that pic you got there. Hunting the Great White Buffalo.
