My wife was telling me about this. It just seems too good to be true. If someone knew the value, why would they store it in an attic and not a safety deposit box? And they would have had to have known the value, otherwise what would be the purpose of "hiding" it? Now if it were many T206's that were found (like the recent find) and it happen to have a Wagner, that would sound more believable. But just to find a single Wagner, that just doesn't add up.
10K for authentication? Wow, that must be some walk-thru service!!

i dont have speakers on my computer because i find noise from computers very annoying ,dont the stupid guy at the card shop know its fake just from looking at one of the ones show that he has that are real?-they dont have 350-400 backs on them?i cant heard what he says and dont particularly want to go to my garage to listen to it on the other one lol randy
I'd say the odds of ever finding another "undiscovered" T206 Wagner at this point in time are about as close to 0 as can be gotten. I'd be pretty sure there's still some in private collections that the public isn't aware of, but these aren't "hidden" - I mean think of the long odds of just finding a T206 card "hidden" somewhere - that's very long odds in itself and then that card being a Wagner? Simply ain't gonna happen.

I guess I dont understand everyones reason to pass judgement so quickly from viewing the video? What sticks out on the card that makes it appear fake? Second when did Corey Feldman open a sports card shop?
Makes you wonder if the guy on the news knows it is a reprint and is fishing for a buyer? If he did get burned then whoever told him it was found in an attic knew it was fake. If the guy had $25,000 in cash and $25,000 in cards you would think he would know better.
Found in Michigan?? Wow pretty decent for sitting in a Michigan attic during those winters and summers. Hopefully this is all true though a story like this is good for the hobby.

I did not watch the vidio, it would not come up for me. To the best of my knowledge, no Wagners were being printed when the 350-460 backs came out. I may be wrong though.

Watch the Video. It clearly shows the card with a Piedmont 350-460 back . The card was pulled during the first run and only appears with a Piedmont 150 or Sweet Caporal 150 back from 1909. 350-460's were printed in 1911. It doesnt have a factory designation on the bottom of the card. 2 seconds is all you need with the card to prove it's fake. More BS news.

I have been collecting since 1957 & I can't recall even one instance where A non-collector found a genuine T-206 Wagner card I guess the odds of finding a genuine Wagner card is so tiny the odds of you walking on the moon tomorrow is better Also if this card was authentic, why did the seller sell it for only $50K any Wagner now is a 6 figure card If this card was real it looks to be worth $200-300K Even a moron wouldn't just flip this card for so cheap Also why is auctioning off so quickly? It's on the auction block today & being sold A OK Auctioneers Guess he couldn't find the phone # for SCP, Mastro or REA Auctions Also one thing you always notice is these guys NEVER trust a reputable grading service to authenticate the card But he's willing to pay $10K to get it authenticated but some idiot won't PSA or SGC do it for A $100 or so? Also the big question is Isn't it illegal to sell counterfeit items? Why doesn't the FBI go to the auction site today Confiscate the card & send it to PSA & SGC to get their opinions on it's authenticity If it's phony Arrest the Auctioneer & the cosignor for conspiring to defraud the public They both know the card is a fake That's why the card wasn't grade by a reputable grading service They both wanted to make a quick buck We see this happening 100's of times or more on Ebay daily Sellers offering phony sportcards, coins etc & Ebay & everyone just seems to want to overlook this problem & I don't see anything happening to make things better
They mentioned the same story I have heard many times before, that the scarcity is due to Wagner objecting to his image being used to sell tobacco products. However, I thought that was debunked some time ago and it was really about compensation. Can any of you baseball guys clarify this point?
He appeared on other tobacco products before and after the T206's. The theory is compensation, but of course no one knows for sure. As with the Plank card (theory broken plate ) I don't think anyone will ever find out the truth.

Only a true dummy would try to nationally publicize a fake, but that's exactly what it looks like is happening here.
I've often wondered why people don't counterfeit five dollar bills. Nobody ever checks, and you could go your entire life passing them around and never get caught, versus the instant scrutiny of counterfeiting 100's and even 20's.
The mind of the modern scammer is an odd one, indeed.

RIGHT! And you would also think that if he were that concerned about paying off his house, he would have used that $25K and sold his cards to do so!
