Super OT: engraver?

anyone know anyone who does quality engraving on coins?
Im thinking of getting a coin grafitti'd with my as yet unborn kid name and birthdate (once born, of course)...
have yet to decide silver or gold....

yes, I am a dork but I figure it'd be a neat thing to have in when the kid can actually read it

btw, Im looking for something more than what the local jewler can do...
I got my wife this as part of her wedding gift, but they wouldn't do any engraving except for what the machine could do. I like the old style hand-engraving...

Contact BillZach on this forum... he does marvelous engraving... mostly Buffalo nickles.. but he does other stuff and he is really good. Cheers, RickO

dcarr might also know some interesting people but the hobo nickel
carver is an interesting choice.

also understand that any high quality jewelry shop should have an
engraver on staff. that is the rumor at least.

--lol what the machine can do. i would spit on the floor and find
another store. people now days with their total lack of any skills.

semi skilled labor would be a step up for them.

You could also try a class... I know a guy in DC that teaches script engraving classes and his students can make a pretty nice love token after just a Sat and Sun afternoon. A similar jewelry class might be an option in your area if it sounds fun.
