F*ing series couldn't at least go to game 5? There is no way this series goes to 5 - no conceivable possible way. I doubt if it goes to 4 but if it does, it won't go to 5.
And the Eagles and Penn State are done as well. Gonna be a long, LONG boring sports fall and winter for me. First time in quite awhile both the Eagles and Penn State were out of it at the same time.

If I was forced to choose between becoming a Dallas Cowboys fan or drinking cyanide, I'd say "Hand me the glass"
Man this postseason is going to be boring if everything is a sweep. I think if any team could come back it's the Phils, their lineup is really good and the Rockies have no real stud pitchers.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
The Phillies will not get swept, and I say the series comes back to Philly.
I sure hope either the Cubs or Phillies can reach down and pull off 3 in a row. Can't picture a NLCS with the D-Backs and Rockies, let alone a World Series with either of them
Rockies are fun to watch, good offense. Momentum from regular season will carry them to the Series, will probably be one of the worst teams ever in a World Series, but that's baseball today.
<<will probably be one of the worst teams ever in a World Series, but that's baseball today>>
Are you kidding me? Last year the Cardinals had the worst record ever to win the World Series. If the Rockies won you could not say that as they have been the hostest team in baseball winning 16 out of 17 games.
"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."
Rockies definitely have momentum, but not sure how you can't make a case they would be worst ever team in series. Starting pitching after Francis is not even close to being good.
With the new playoff format the best team seldom wins the series any more, it's the team with the momentum. Let's go back to one division in each league and make the regular season worth something. Next thing you know we'll have 16 teams in the playoffs. All about the money.
Showed a lot of heart at the end of the regular season, but got beat by a super hot team in the playoffs. Oh well, it brought some nice baseball excitement to Philly and that's a good thing.

While I find going back to the pre-1968 days of having only the teams with the best record in each league go to the World Series rather extreme with 14-16 teams per league, I do sorta miss the days of true pennant/division races like we had until 1994. Why not just have the three division winners qualify and have the team with the best record get a bye to the LCS, like Bob Costas once suggested (and also says to move the Astros to the AL to make all the divisions five teams each) in his book Fair Ball. This would make sense since there were four divisions with six teams each when we first went to divisions in 1969. I mean, didn't the fact that MLB had NO wild cards while the NFL/NBA/NHL had a whole stack of wild cards each what gave baseball its charm?
I'm pretty confident that no Phillies Phans are truly surprised, although we are all largely saddened.
At this point, I'm glad I didn't pony up the $400 each it would have cost for some nice tickets to one of the playoff games at Citizen's Bank.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

<< <i>The Phils still have a chance. 0-2 is bleak but going on a 3 game winning streak isn't asking for a miracle. >>
You should know. In 1995 you blew a 2-0 lead against Seattle in the ALDS and the following year came back from 0-2 to win the 1996 World Series.
So don't give up Yankees, Angels, Phillies or Cubs fans.
