I don't watch much tv at all, but always have a college football game background noise on during football season.
Anyway, what happened on People's Court? Is Judge Wapner still there?
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. Will’sProoflikes
Television, like many other things, has it's place. It should never become a substitute for life. Remember, TV only entered the family scene in the late '40's... and was truly responsible for the death of the front porch in american architecture. It was all down hill from there. However, even then, the hours of available TV were limited - as was channel selection. Now, people invite guests over for dinner and tv... how sad. There are worthwhile television programs, and certainly provides a useful venue for watching movies (DVD etc). Of course, the majority will continue to vegetate in front of the screen watching mindless drivel. Oh well, their life, however disgusting. Cheers, RickO
I haven't watched TV regularly in years. I haven't lived in a house that had a TV in about seven years. I don't miss it. I spent a few nights in a hotel a little while ago and tried out the TV. I am conivinced I am not really missing anything. I was especially appauled by how lame TV news is.
TV aint so bad. The Internet, now THAT is scourge of society. d;-) I don't watch TV either. Too busy downloading porno!
Actually, the best channel on TV is arguably the History Channel: Dogfights, Digging For The Truth, Modern Marvels, The Universe, Man Moment Machine, Human Weapon, Heavy Metal, Mega Movers, Mega Disasters. Doesn't get much better than that!
I get a kick out of those who claim they watch next to none with overtones that somehow makes them better than those who watch it more. There is plenty of great, educational TV. I would have never learned Exactly how carbon dating is done in a lab without it.

Looking to buy Morgans in ACG, INS, IGA, Old PCI photo, and Hannes Tulving holders.
The producers called me and asked me to be on, but I needed to be in St. L. for the CSNS convention and they couldn't re-schedule, so I recommended Stack's, but they wouldn't send anyone. I then recommended David, as he does have excellent credentials.
Just imagine--- You could have been having a field day with me!!

Question for those that hate TV---How much time do you spend playing on the computer?

Ebay seller claiming a MS65 1915 Saint but he only guarantees coin to be genuine/not the grade.
Buyer claims the coin isn't a 65 (there's a shocker). He paid $2600 for a suposed $20,000 coin??? Reality is he got a $800 coin. Ganz examines they coin and his opinion is a 62 or 63 (I was shocked it wasn't AU cleaned).
The judge ruled in favor of the buyer even though the sellers defense was that he only guaranteed authenticity and not grade.
There should be a Numismatist's Court given all the disputes we have around here.
I do like the History Channel and the Discovery Channel but not enough to go out and get a TV. During my hotel stint I took great pleasure in watching "Lobster Wars."
In answer to the computer question, YES! I blow a huge amount of time wandering the internet.

Geez man, get a life. I can't imagine sitting outside on the porch in the evenings in 95 degree heat with misquitoes swarming all around. People enjoyed that? If folks like to watch TV, and it doesn't hurt you, then who cares?
P.S. For the record, I watch about 4-5 hours of TV a week--if that. Mostly I read and surf the 'net.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."
I must confess I am a major sinner-we have a TV within a few feet of our computer and both are going many hours per day. Where do I go to repent my sins?
<< <i>The judge ruled in favor of the buyer even though the sellers defense was that he only guaranteed authenticity and not grade. >>
Legally the seller is probably OK. But on those TV shows the judge will do what they think is "right", not necessarily going by the letter of the law. Score one for the good guys here.
One thing to remember about these shows, is that the show actually pays any damages awarded by the court. What I mean is that when the judge gave the plaintiff back the $2000, that came from the show producers, so the defendant got his coin back, he didn't have to pay the $2000 judgment and he kept the $2600 payment that the guy made on the item. So no matter what happened the defendant made out on this deal.
At the end of the show, in the credits it lists something like... The producers take the total amount of the claims by both parties, totals it up, then from this pool pays any judgments to the proper party, the remainder of the money in the fund is divided equally between the parties. In this case the claim was $2600, the judgment was $2000 so the remaining $600 was divided between the defendant and the plaintiff. SO in reality the plaintiff paid $2600 for the coin, was given a $2000 judgment, got $300 from the show, and had to give up the coin. The defendant got the coin back, got $300 for being on the show, and $2600 for the coin in the first place.
Man I want to sell coins and show up on the peoples court, That seems to be the way to make money!

One of the "real" things wrong with this country is the idea that other folks have the god given right to tell us how to live our lives on subjects that don't violate rules or break laws. I always wonder what makes them so frigging smart and holy. Most of these folks don't have a solid grip on their own lives but can't wait to dole out so called nuggets of wisdom on how we should lead ours. Witness all the so called religious right wing nuts that have gotten in trouble over the years.
