2 out in the bottom of the 9th at Shea...Jose Reyes is getting soundly booed by the 32 fans remaining.
  • Mets fan you were right -

    It's a long season.

    162 games.

    Ends in September.

The Mets will still lead the NL East at the end.

Well, you went three for four.

Great season. Some fantastic games played in Philly and NYC.

  • Epic collapse by the Mets these last 17 days.

Credit the Phillies. You guys took advantage and played hard down the stretch to win it all.

And now the Padres are trailing the Brew Crew 9-4. If that holds and the Rockies win today, the Pods and Rox will playoff for the wild card.

Not the one game series I wanted to see, but it will have to do.
  • Gotta love it...where's the champagne Willie promised?

We just popped some since my wife is a Philly-area native and a Phillies fan.

I proposed a toast to the '64 Phillies, '69 Cubs, '78 Red Sox and '07 Mets.

With the exception of yesterday's game, Mets showed NO fire or passion or intensity down the stretch. They looked like a team already beaten the past two weeks.

    Congrats again to the Phils!

They looked like a team that shot their wad yesterday and had nothing left.
  • A collapse is not complete without a team surging from 2nd or 3rd place. The Phillies deserve a lot more credit than I think they are getting - and I'm not even a Philadelphia fan. In fact, they arguably have the worst fans in sports. If they didn't win 14 of their last 17 games, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
