You're right, still plenty of time - it's still only the first quarter and one touchdown isn't that much of a lead.

I saw the Mets huddling - they might be trying for an onsides kick fairly soon.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Funny thing though, I don't see any Mets cheerleaders. What the heck happened to them?
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Mets may need to put in a different quarterback - I haven't seen a pass completion from them all day.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Phillies got 'em loaded - time to do some damage!

    CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Willis knocked out of the game in the 3rd. Mets have 'em loaded with two outs.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Phils up by a field goal.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Mets still down by a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. I still don't see their cheerleaders. Guess they must be on strike.
  • ziggy29ziggy29 Posts: 18,668 ✭✭✭
LoDuca leaves 'em loaded at Shea. Looks like this game is being managed like a Game 7 on both sides.
  • Wow, not looking too good Metsies image

Can the Mets be helped with the Heimlich Maneuver?

Does look bleak, but it ain't over yet!

8-1 Fish over Mets and 3-1 Phils over Nats, both in the 6th...

The fat lady is gearing up...

Come on Phils - let's get some insurance runs.

GREAT bunt by Nunez there. That was NOT an easy pitch to bunt well.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Come on Phils - I don't wanna play no game tomorrow!
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
At least a sac fly - come on.

Another goose egg for the Mets.

Is this really gonna happen - the Phils in the playoffs?

If the Phillies hold on and make the playoffs, my MVP vote (if I had one) would be going to Rollins.

    Is this happening?

    Somebody slap me.

    Be careful.

I'm a Giants fan. In 2002 I went to the store to buy two bottles of champagne when the Giants were leading 5-0 in the 7th inning of Game 6.

    Thank you, Scott F. Spiezio.

I'm not sure which seems more surreal - The Phillies in the playoffs or the Mets out of the playoffs. I guess the Mets out of the playoffs is more so.

Congratulations, Steve, you guys certainly deserve it more than we do! Good Luck!

Thanks man - it ain't over yet but then again it's just about. You know the smack from me is all in good natured fun...at least it is for me anyway...I don't speak for anybody else.

I admit - it sure feels good though being on the winning side for a change. But six more outs to go though in each game.

Likewise here. Srill in shock that a big-game veteran like Glavine would spit the bit like he did today...

Through 8 innings. Shea is clearing out fast. Mets still trail 8-1.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Well, the Mets game is over, just hope the Phillies piching staff doesn't make it interesting.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
    DP - that was big!
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,033 ✭✭✭✭✭
Phillies pitching staff came through down the stretch and the bats were clutch most times when needed. I hope it continues in the playoffs.

To the Phillies 2007 regular season - a job well done! image
