Roosevelt full bands/full torch question

Just wondering out there how many people have had success with older NGC or PCGS slabbed Roosy's from before either began the FT/FB designation, that you were then able to crack out or cross over to PCGS and get the designation. I see older slabbed Roosy's (esp. from NGC) from time to time on eBay in some really nice grades, just wondering if the odds are way stacked against any of these being worthy of the FB designation. Thanks.

A very good question. Thanks for asking it.

I have been able to get some NGC FT designations done, but not PCGS. I think their have been some board members that have been able to do this.

In the past 12 months, I've purchased a 53P in an old fat NGC MS67 holder, got it designated MS67*FT, then crossed it to PCGS as MS67FB. Did exactly the same thing with a 54S in an old fat NGC MS67 holder. Probably the biggest 2 coins I've done recently. PCGS is togh and I think (may just be my opinion) that getting NGC to give the coin an FT and a star helps!

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
