How about a 2009 VDB MPL near exact as 1909?
represents the falling ethics and lack of brain power in congress.

Thanks for listening.

Bring back the wheat ear design, along with the VDB and do a limited number of these at the SF mint (actually, the exact mintage of the original would be apropo in my opinion).
A limited run on Matte Proofs would also be very nice.

Best Idea yet! Make it out of copper like it should be!
Box of 20
<< <i>the Lincoln in front of the capital is strange coming before the one showing the capital being built. >>
The first is the Illinois Statehouse.
<< <i>And not just Lincoln. Historical figures have been on US coinage way too long. Liberty should be brought back. >>
Many Congressmen may be satisfied that she's back, on the back of the Prexy bux. Who knows, the statue may replace more homes, monuments and eagles on coin reverses while keeping our historic leaders on the obverses.
<< <i>Zoins, you're scaring me. I don't really like the statue of liberty on coins. I prefer other forms of representation. >>
I'm just the messenger. When the Prexy Bux came out, there was a press release that said Lady Liberty returned on the reverse as the Statue of Liberty. I believe this was from the US Mint. As for who should scare you, you may want to consider Congressman Michael Castle, probably the most influential person in modern numismatics. Before the Prexy Bux and the Sac, he was pushing for this design by US Mint engraver James Ferrell, engraved by Ron Landis below:
The large lobbying efforts by Indian nations, mid-west Governors, Dead President home foundations and the like is one reason why I think it would be useful for the ANA to become active in DC again and represent views of the average collector. No matter what individuals do, I think their efforts need to be coordinated to counter the strong special interests (and political correctness) that surrounds present-day numismatics.
TR is the only President I've heard of that was actively involved in design of coinage.
Ron's Lady Liberty essentially met the same fate as Frank Gasparro's decades earlier, to be passed over in favor of a historic, real woman. Frank's Lady Liberty is here:
Recent experience is the reason why I think the only hope a classic Lady Liberty has is for the ANA or some other organization to start representing collectors to Congress. There are just too many other special interests that Lady Liberty will never get the time of day. The exception is the APEs where they've been coming up with new allegorical designs.

I thought that this was one of the cents to be produced.
Someone posted on here, 6 months ago or so, exactly what Congress called for in cents for 2009. (I can't find the info in a search though)
The original S VDB design is scheduled to be made, I believe.
Edited to add....Here's the legislation.....Perhaps there is no VDB coming....
