historical US mint prices information?

Does anyone know where I could see what past coins actually sold for at the US mint? I have bought and been given various proof sets and commemoratives over the past 20 years and I was wondering what some of the coins actually cost when purchased from the mint. Also another newbie question, how do you go about putting a picture in a post on this site? I tried to attach a photo and was unable to do so.

Thanks

Check a Red Book. I believe the original issue prices are listed.

I know that the 2007 Red Book has them.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
  • The easiest way is to open a free photobucket account. Upload your images there. Under the picture on PB you will see 4 options, left click on the bottom (IMG) option and it will say copied. In your post, simply paste the URL you just copied into your post.

Edited to add: Welcome to the forum, and yes, the 2008 Redbook also has issue prices for proof and mint sets.

  • You can also go to the Mint website and look at the archive of old press releases announcing the release of new items. They usually list the prices.
