Its not "Modern Crap". It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I think its a nice rare coin but I wouldn't shell out $6200 for it. (I have never seen it in person so maybe i would). it is a tough date in that condition and with color so I would not be surprised if it sells at that price.

My take is........How can PCGS see through all the toning to make it a 67? How about that nice hit on the cheek? I have quite a few 64FBL's & 65 FBL's that are white. I think that coin would make a 64FBK max if it was white................SO, are they grading the coin or the toning??????

I wouldn't even pay $62 for that coin. Being that new, it has a lot of crappy toning on it.
I'd rather search mint sets and find a white 66 or better semi FBL.

this coin has been on the market a good long while - it was 7200.00$ so it`s a bargain now !

if put up for auction it would fetch between 2000.00 to 3000.00 bucks

I don't like the hits on the face, but make no mistake about it, that is one tough coin and very pretty to boot... however personally, that kind of cash might fetch a seated quarter in 67, which I would much rather have, or a nice 66 with cash left over for something else.

You would do well to steer clear of those mint sets Sotty!

I like that 62-D, but would never pay full boat for any Frankie slabbed in that era.

I would wager that if you cracked that sucker out and resubmitted it, it would no longer get the FBL.

It's not common, only 10 at that grade, and a bit over 200 in 65. A 62-D with nice color is very hard to find.

However, having said that, I've had this particular coin in hand twice. The picture is totally flattering. The coin is not lustrous, to the point that it looks a bit hazy. There are a few hits on it as well. The color is pretty nice and overall it has some eye appeal. It's a pretty solid coin... as a 65.

It's a pretty coin, but not worth anything like what they are asking. Is it modern crap?... well, yeah in one sense, although I wouldn't call it crap.

Well, yeah, you can get a really nice PR68DCAM 1962 for maybe a tenth of the asking price of the '62-D (or less), and I will grant you the vast majority of Franklin DCAMs are a also a lot less expensive, but if you are talking some of the higher grade earlier Franklin date ultra cameos they can get a lot pricier than $6,200.
