Where are all the Randy Moss doubters?

This guy has turned over a new leaf and is just a BIG PLAY receiver once again! I admit I had my doubts but he clearly has been a HUGE upgrade at the WR position, look out!

  • I can see why people had doubts, my sad-ass Raiders could NOT get the ball to him.

After his career is over, those two years in Oakland will be like a bad dream. It never really happened.

He does have talent, however it seems he simply decided not to even try while with the Raiders. After he saw what a disaster the Raiders team was, maybe he figured he would go into cruise mode simply to hasten the Raiders decision to cut him loose. He took his paycheck from the Raiders, did not give equal value in return and got his wish to be shipped elsewhere. Now he decides to put in the effort in New England.

He would be held in higher regard if he put forth a quality effort while he was with the Raiders and even during his last days as a Viking. Sadly, that type of a mindset about one's work is not common with star players today.

Basically, I agree with what Sanction is saying. Why give any love to a guy that doesn't give it his all when things aren't going right? I've got no respect for a POS like Randy.

  • How do you know his effort is different? Perhaps he is still not trying very hard

NO WAY Belichek would put up with the bULL$hit he pulled in Oakland, not to mention that he was almost cut at the end of training camp for his fake injury, had he sat out that first game I think he knew he would be gone. Shame on the Raiders for not cutting him when he was acting up, they put up with him so their was no reason for him to change.
  • From what I have seen, a persons charachter does not change in six months. I am also completely certain I cannot judge someones character based on what ESPN and Sports Illustrated tell me. I also know, both football talent and determination can be hidden or revealed by teammates. The same player doing the same exact things looks far different on a 2-14 team than on a Super Bowl team. Like not traing

<< <i>even on balls he could have clearly gotten to >>

How many passes thrown by Andrew Walter can any reciever get to clearly?

The Randy Moss on Oakland is the same Randy Moss on the Patriots, whether that is lazy or studious, or more likely somewhere in the middle. He has done stupid things his entire football career going back to before his first college game, he has also done great things on the football field. So far that is exactly what the Patriots have seen. Fortunately the stupid part came in the preseason and not the first two games

Belichek will put up with anything that will help a team win. Yet he also knows not running routes and not catching the ball take away from winning. Bekichek will appreciate Moss and keep him on the team and in the lineup as long he he keeps helping the team win

  • << <i>Are you telling me that you have been equally motivated and put for the exact level of effort for every job that you've had? >>

No. And sometimes that discrepency comes from co-workers. Performing up or down to the level of the people around you doesn't always give an accurate reflection. When so many passes are uncatchable no matter what the reciever does, it is hard to fault him for failing to do everything possible to go after them

Where was everyone so sure he was going to be a good employee in NE? I don't recall anyone saying he was going to come out and do well like this.
  • The best move the Raiders made this offseason was getting rid of a bum like Randy Moss, to say he was'nt motivated to catch the ball in Oakland and still collect a paycheck is a total lack of respect for the game or the organization you work for. PB
  • Call him a bum all you want, but if I worked with a bunch of idiots I would get tired of it too, period. Randy isnt a bad guy, great with kids and donations, you never hear about that stuff. Now that he is on a solid team, you will see him in a different light.

Sure, working with idiots is pressing, but most of us do it. And if we have any pride, we do it to the best of our abilities no matter what. Most employers don't hire people to help them make friends. They hire them to do a job, and expect them to do it as well as they can. But he wanted to whine and pout because things weren't going the way he wanted them too, which defines his character.

Do you believe his character has changed?

From then to now? Not his character, but his effort and attitude have. Of course, that's subject to change without notice image
