I cancelled one of my FS Jeff Unc orders today.....

From the ones my sister ordered for me, I told her to go ahead and cancel the uncirculated version. I will be getting 2 proofs and 1 uncirculated.

I feel the proofs have the best shot of appreciating in value since the mintages for both will be the same. Collectors like proofs.

  • probably a good move. i'm gonna cancel before the days over. no intention of collecting
these things and selling for obscene profits just aint gonna happen.

  • The only one to sell today on ebay was a BIN for 570. Not a bad return.

I have to believe they will go high for a while once they actually get released, places like HSN have to have them to continue the series and I doubt there network of employee's was big enough to get all they need.

  • did anyone notice the lack of listing for first spouse, i mean, when the jeffersons went on sale, a day after they were about 550+ listings if searched "first spouse", today they are abou 288 listing and doing down, yesterday it was up to 320+....are the flippers finally done selling their coins and the market is drying, or the late receivers from the mint just returned everything.. I have seen a substencial decrease in listing in the past weeks. from 550+ to 280+ probably tomorrow will be around 250+..

  • Let's be honest here. They are crap.image

Some of the early flippers may be getting the mint's notices mailed to them saying "seeya! you didn't get one"

Overall I agree with you Fan.

But, I will reserve my opinion until I have the Liberty in my grubby little hands.

Since Liberty will be more representative of a "fairly" distributed commemorative issue, I think Martha and Abigail will have to take a back seat as far as numismatic value!!!!

Even though Jefferson's Liberty has a bit of a Striesand nose, I think the coin will be way more classy than the first two.

    For $4.95 S&H + return S&H, it's worth a look!!!!!

    Good Luck to all

I for one, don't think so. Just because the women don't look like "raving beauties" by today’s standards, that did not make them unattractive in their time. I'm sure 200 years from now, someone will look at a picture of Marilyn Monroe & make the same comment...boy what a homely looking women.

  • the ASE sets took months to sell out and then went to the moon. Don't give up on these to quick. With that said I wouldn't hold forever either.
  • Very bad move.

Good move. Less flipping the better.

I think it is a bad move too.

I have a bronze medal and I think the design is awesome and can't wait to see the gold.

I was originally going to sell whatever sets I get but now I am keeping one.

  • Hey man, I have to look at the cash flow. I bought 2 of the 4 coin UNC plat sets and 1 of the Proof in August already. The proofs are still in the mint sealed box, the UNCs I sent to PCGS for grading.

    4 out of the 8 came back as MS70 FS. 1 $100, 1 $50, and 2 $25s.

PLUS, I am wanting to get the RP plat sets if the mint releases them. On top of that I plan to get married next April. (a beautiful Thai girl)

I need to watch where i spend my $$$.

Now you fess up -- say goodbye to more than coins...

Bad idea overall. Just because the presales are dogging doesn't mean there won't be a big push once they hit our mailboxes. The presaler's cannot guarantee anything until they have in hand, which may be all you get soon...

Bullion value for both proof AND uncirculated versions is about $355 each.

This limits downside risk even if the uncirculated ones are less popular.

Ah the flippers are discouraged that they cannot get 100% profit in 30 days. I shed tears for them.image

  • Yes Congrats in advance in getting married next year. Do the wedding in Thailand and you will spend less money but a whole lot of bang for your buck! Either way its a win-win situation for you...You got the money and the Girl.(First Spouse & New Wife)image
  • An extra $410 will help the marriage bills? Wondercoin is already offering $460 for it. That 50 bucks could have helped.
  • i saw the offer for 460. delivered mint price is 416.... cost to get it to wondercoin is probably just under 20 bucks.
brings the offer down to 440.... minus 416.....= 24 bucks. hardly worth tying up that kind of money on a 24 dollar net.
  • How do ya tie up money? you have the 24 bucks before the CC bill is due. I'll bet his offer goes up when the coins actually come out.
  • Well, if you're concerned about cash flow, I see your point. But if you are interested in flipping for a profit, why in the world would you buy plats this year? (Even if you just like them and want to collect them, it would have been better to go big in the TJ FS, then buy the plats on eBay once you flip the TJ.)

Good luck though! And grats on the wedding =)

I commend you for cancelling. Your reasons are your own, but this is an opportunity for a collector on the waiting list to possibly get one. Not that they aren't readily available like cookies image. Some things will always be "readily available" like cookies.

So, with these being received now and gold going UPPPPPPPP, do those that canceled still feel good? image

I canceled my unc. and still feel good.

I'm getting married and buying a house.
If I want to flip, I could always do that with my proof hag

I won't deny that it would be nice to have an extra $100-$200 by flipping the unc. but, I wouldn't be out of $400 until I sell it. Plus, knowing myself, I'd probably keep it and not flip.
