OT: Just got Bill James' Historical Baseball Abstract...

What an AWESOME read. I'm obviously not done yet, but this guy is WAY - WAAAAAAAAAAAAY - more accurate than anyone else I've read who is considered an authority on the game.

The in-depth statistical analysis comparing Biggio and Griffey, Jr was an awesome read.

Welcome to the world of analysis for grownups. I highly recommend that you buy his 80s Abstracts (available on eBay).
  • By far the most well-thought out literature on player analysis along side an outstanding look at baseball history. Already a little outdated, not only the best baseball book, possibly the best book I've ever read
