Night hunters--Question

For those of you that hunt at night how do you keep track of where you have been? Like when you are working on a grid. Do you hunt big areas like on a football or soccer field?

Little surveying flags... work great. Cheers, RickO

I'm a bit more of a freestyle hunter and seldom work tight grids anywhere, unless I'm in an established hotspot.

Occasionally, when I'm on naked dirt or on a beach, it's easy enough- I can see my own footprints in the dirt or sand and deduce where I've been and where I haven't.

If I were ever going to be a serious, disciplined grid hunter, I suppose I would get two stakes and a long length of nylon twine. Then I could hunt up on side of the line demarcated by the string, and down the other, before moving it and repeating the process.

But that's an awful lot of work. I'm too lazy for that.
