Where to get Bonds autograph?

Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew how I could get Barry Bonds to autograph a card of mine. I seem to remember that sometimes there are card shows where famous players have autograph sessions but does Barry Bonds do any of these?

    First off, imageimage

I honestly can not remember ever seeing any reports of Barry Bonds making any card/autograph show appearances, and I've been in the hobby for 30 years. He does have his own company where you can buy autographed items, but the prices are in outer space!

As far as getting your own item signed, the best advice I can give is to go to a game, and hope and pray (especially pray) that he comes over and signs. The chances are essentially zero that he will, but hey, miracles have happenedimage

#1 - His fee would probably be about $1,000.00.............more if he signs it with an ink filled syringe.

#2 - Why would anyone want his autograph?

  • You might be lucky enough to catch him coming or going from the BALCO lab.

Or you might find one at the dump!

If you wait a few months, you should be able to find him at a federal prison.

    So many helpful answers here!

The last time I heard of him signing was at a Vegas show a few years ago. The prices were absolutely astronomical- I can't recall specifics, but was blown away. Something like $500-700 for a ball.
I would think having a card signed would be cost prohibitive. Often players get a lot less for their sig once they have retired than when active, but I wouldn't count on that in this case. If you can find a legit one on ebay that might be about your only option.

If anyone remembers, I think it was HR #700 where the guy returned the ball and Bonds wouldnt even give him an autograph. Am I right? I just remember it was something insanely stupid like that.

I knew it was a milestone HR...here you go Wallstreet...and refused a serviceman no less....yes, Bonds is that big of an Ahole...

Bonds Refuses To Sign Home Run Ball For Fan
(AP) PHILADELPHIA Carlos Oliveras has a home run ball specially marked to assure authenticity.

It just doesn't have Barry Bonds' autograph as the slugger refused to sign the ball.

The 25-year-old Air Force serviceman bought his lucky ticket because he wanted to see Bonds chase Babe Ruth on the career home run list. Oliveras had little idea he'd be the one being chased - by fans, by media - after snagging career home run No. 713.

When the San Francisco Giants' slugger hit a mammoth shot in the sixth inning off Philadelphia right-hander Jon Lieber to put him one behind the Babe on Sunday night, the ball bounced around Section 202 and into Oliveras' hands.

"I never thought I was going to be lucky like that," Oliveras said.

This was the first game of the three-game series Oliveras and a friend attended. He bought the ticket two days ago because he's a Bonds fans and wanted to see a slice of history. Then he was part of it.

"Everybody was looking on the floor," Oliveras said. "The ball bounced to me. I grabbed the ball and I stuck it between my legs. Everyone was still looking around."

Oliveras, a native of Puerto Rico, said no one immediately tried to snag the ball because he had it hidden. When the media and Phillies security discovered he caught the ball, other Phillies fans - many who spent the series jeering the sullen slugger - started yelling for him to throw the ball back.

"It made me nervous," he said.

Oliveras, an Airman 1st Class who lives on McGuire Air Force Base in Fort Dix, N.J., paid $20 for his seat in Section 202, Row 7, Seat 24.

He said he is a Bonds fan and would probably keep the ball. He hoped it would have Bonds' signature.

Bonds said no when he was asked at his news conference if he would sign the ball if a fan wanted an autograph. Moments later, when an official asked if there were any more questions, Oliveras piped up:

    "Will you sign my ball?"

    Bonds smirked and said nothing.

After his news conference, Bonds shook Oliveras' hand and took a picture with him.

"I'm happy because I got a picture and he shook my hand," he said.

There was one signature needed though. Oliveras had to sign a waiver for Bonds' reality show.

  • i got Bonds' autograph....i was 12 and it was early March 1986 in Bradenton, FL during spring training. had no clue who he was but he came out of the clubhouse, so he had to be someone. he looked at me funny as if to say 'Kid, i'm nobody you know. you want MY autograph?'......he signed my auto book politely, smiled and gave it back to me. the other few (VERY few, the Pirates sucked then) people around ignored the 'nobody' and waited for someone they knew.......nice little memory.....still have the auto book too

You will always hear made up stories as long as you're breathing .

They don't always have to come from hate mongering bigot racists .

While we are on the subject of made up stories though, what makes you think I would want to buy a bonds autograph?

I really only like to collect autographs of players I admire .

For a while I tried to give Bonds the benefit of the doubt and I know Steroids do not do much to help one's hand eye coordination, but it will help and give one an edge in endurance and power .

I, for a long time did not want to believe it was true and I still hope it isn't , but I'm just trying to fool myself and that isn't right either .

Bonds is a tough autograph. I like that better than guys like Pete Rose that sign everything.

As of late, Bonds has done a much better job with his signature. I was at a game a few weeks ago and Barry did step up and sign a few autos for the kids seated just in front of me. Our seats are next to the dugout near the on deck circle. One the kids showed me her ball he had signed and the Auto was very nice, you could read the entire name Barry Bonds rather than the older BBS version.

I do not think you will be able to get Bonds to sign unless you have a kid that can get it for you, he does not like to sign for adults.

There are some nice auto's available through the Giants store online or ebay, the better auto's with him signing his full name do sell for more.

    Good Luck,
    Dave

I think a lot of the players enjoy signing for the kids more .

I know at Yankee stadium, they will let the children go down to the dugout before the game real early and let them see if they can get an auto , but they tell the parents to stay back , unless of course you're holding the tickets for that area , just behind the dugout .

Why is signing everything bad? Because of value? I think its sad how much some players (who are still alive) charge for their autos and how much they sell for. I applaud guys like Pete Rose, Bob Feller, and Rollie Fingers for signing anything and everything. It's actually the way it should be and that is fan friendly.
