  • So you don't have any advice for Jeremy, why are you still posting nonsense?

Man oh man... I gave him good advice, pharmer.

Jeremy will do what is right and I'll just bet he'll get that neg removed without resorting to a knock down drag out. image

<< <i>BTW, has the buyer asked for a refund yet? If not, why? >>

    Nope and no idea

<< <i>I would email this fool and tell het to return the item in same packaging and you will refund $$ when recieved. >>

If the coin comes back, I'll try to process the refund within 4 weeks... you know, I might go on vacation to another country image

    << <i>
After reading those 2 lines my first thought is that she is setting you up for a return of a fake.
Maybe she bought a cheap fake & now is looking to 'trade' for an authentic one? >>

Not a terrible thought... I'll be very careful if/when the coin comes back

<< <i>I take a professional, well thought out negative as a warning sign. If you retailate in kind (i.e. call her an idiot), then I'm likely to ignore the feedback as immaturity on both the buyer and seller's part and allow the bid, unless the bidder has a history of leaving this type of feedback. >>

I'm thinking of a what Neg I'll give, but yes, it will definitely come. I'm trying to see if I can come up with anything a tad bit witty, but it will still be professional. I have no intentions on screwing myself over by typing something dumb.

Must have missed the assessment, Joe, how about recapping it for me. Quotes would be favorite. And just get to the point, OK? >>

Since I've got your attention, stop ignoring this and post the assessment you refer to.

  • Leave her a Neg, Jeremy and wish her a Happy New Year. That will really confuse her.

The assessment that 100% positive feedback by the vast majority is a reflection of them not filing a negative, nor is it because people are weenies. I do not believe that for one second.

I happen to disagree with that assessment. image
  • Finally. Thanks. I care because I've worried about the exact same thing happening, an undeserved neg, and "feces happens" is about the most stupid advice I've ever seen, yet it comprises most of what has been dispensed in this thread.

Craptacular nonsense is the phrase I was fumbling for. Telling him not to sweat it, one neg says more about the idiot buyer than him, does him absolutely no good, does it? It's craptacular nonsense.

Something is up with this buyer. Its seems that based on the other things purchased that this is a very esoteric item to have been interested in. Perhaps someone using anothers account to buy something? Or it was a gift? ------------------BigE

<< <i>What's your advice for Jeremy concerning his question about how to get rid of the neg? >>

    Ok Pharmer,

    Russ is correct.

But since you asked for it here is the easy way out:

Negative her and then negotiate with her to mutually retracted the bid through ebay.

I would recommend taking the more professional road that I explained earlier in this thread. I understand Jeremy's frustration. Frankly removing the negative is easy. Doing the right thing is what is hard sometimes. >>

  • I would not feel so bad about it Jeremy. I got one neg, but it was from a seller who sold me a bootleg DVD. After I confronted the seller, he decided to neg me. Oh well, I was happy to return the favor.

I had the same thing happen to me on a bootleg video. Left a negative and received a negative.

A recent experience is as follows:

Neg left for non-payer. Neg left for me in return. After my response to buyer's original dispute within ebay he appeared the following day as "no longer a registered user." Haven't seen him on ebay since.

I then filed a dispute with SquareTrade and the neg left for me was removed (at a minimal cost of $19.95.) The neg I left for buyer remained in his history. Please keep in mind that SquareTrade is a third party mediator which I believe ebay owns (yet another avenue to make a buck.) Those of you who know, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds like a prime example of malicious buyiing practices which ebay strictly prohibits.

    Best of luck!

    << <i>Looks like she got negged. >>

Yup... I negged her a few days ago. I'm going to reply to mine sometime this week... I think a short explanation plus a link to a page with more info. I figure with that either:
1- I can have a fair explanation of my side
2- Or, the whole thing gets removed from my feedback because there's a link

I just didn't want to write anything before I had some time to think it through when not painfully busy.

  • Jeremy,

    Good negative image

It is factual, to the point and informative.

I would find this negative extremely helpful as a seller. image

    Thank you,
    Best Regards,

    Rob
