    I absolutely love classic coins (well, except for the ones that are screwed up) - I just don't buy very many of them, because I like some of the new stuff even more.image

    The "liner collectors" get no respect at all. Late Classics and Early Moderns Rock and for the most part do not have insane prices.

    Exactly. There are some series that don't do much for me. I never say anything negative about them and often don't even open up threads that have them in the subject. Now some people aren't that way and they're going to give you their opinion, even if it is negative. That's human nature.

    But to start a new thread just to bash fellow collector's coins is over the top rediculous in my opinion.

    So the majority of what I collect is original seated, which I guess could be considered classic,image, along with some twentieth century, some gold, some wild Franklins, so what? Like my opinion makes any bloody difference as to what strikes somone else's fancy... I've even ordered a proof TJ first spouse. This hobby is big enuf to include everyone, so why my tastes may not extend to Sac dollars, it's not really fair for me to look down on someone who does and say they what they collect sucks. It's like the guy who is so insecure he has to denigrate others to try and raise his own level of accomplishment rather than elevate himself by virtue of his own actions, sheesh, get a life pardner.

    I still get a charge out of finding a wheat cent or a silver dime in my change.

    I like classic coins - most of them anyway. The ones I don't like are over-dipped, whizzed, overgraded, overhyped, overpriced, counterfeit, over-AT'ed, or just plain over-processed. Sadly, all this includes probably 98% of what's out there.

    Brand new crap from the Mint looks really good in contrast. Except when it's over-hyped, overproduced, or just plain over-Franklin Mint- like. image

    Well, and this is my only beef with classics, too. I love 'em. I just am not ready to take the risk on buying any of them because so many of them have these problems. That's why all my money goes into moderns--except for the nickel and half rolls i get from the bank--which most would consider moderns, too. Sigh.
