We should all enjoy both of them

Arod and Manning. I've been watching sports since we got our first TV in the mid-50's and am neither a big Yankees or Colts fan, but these two guys may be two of the greatest to ever play their games. I am truly amazed watching these two guys and I saw Mantle, Aaron, Mays, Clemente etc. and Unitas, Starr, Elway, Marino, etc. etc. play in their primes. Arod may very well break all kinds of major league records before he is done and I've never seen a more instinctive, a better student of the game with Mannings physical talents are throwing the ball. Both of them are pure pleasure to watch perform. image

Edited to add: watch the Brady fans pile on........its ok. image

Lets now forget Wayne and Harrison, what Marvin did on that first TD was nothing but amazing. You stick Manning in Minnesota and he doesn't have
half the stats. The O line looked good too! Remember football and baseball are still team sports.

Ah, I agree Marvin is great and Reggie is coming on but the third receiver for the Colts is usually very productive as well. I think it's a great system that Manning is able to execute. I think if you put Marvin on the Vikes and Troy Williamson on the Colts, Williamson is in the Pro Bowl this year due to Manning and their system.

  • Remeber, though, even after this year Rodriguez will still have less than half the number of MVP awards that another contemporary baseball player has

  • Put Manning in Minny and he doesn't have half the stats? Who's to say? Who's to say guys wouldn't come to Minny to play and take a pay cut to be with the best QB in the game?

I agree with the OP though that people continue to overlook humble, great players like Arod and Manning and instead want to look for the flashy, 'who's next' type guy instead.

I am all for records being broken, I would love to see these guys set career marks for HR's and Passing yards.
