got a call from riccar real late last night. we checked out a location that had activity back to the 1790's. of course we had dreams of spanish or colonial coins and relics. was kinda disappointed to see this surface. its my 11th walker dug, a 1920s. gave me a quarter signal on the DFX and was almost a foot down. rick got the oldest coin, which i tried hard to beat. usually a site like this puts out super old coins, but not this time around.

<<That is a sweet half. A foot down? I can only dream of finding something that deep. >>
It was soft, plowed dirt so it was easy to get a signal, move most of the first few inches of dirt with your foot, sweep again, and then see if the signal was better. (but that's just what I was doing out there)
Here's my take for the night:

I was just talking to someone about that feeling today. Excitement over finding something cool that you don't find often, but disappointed that a site didn't live up to its potential.
Large silver is still large... and silver
Rick, is that a malitia buckle?
Nice finds guys!!
<< <i>Nice I'm still waiting to find my first half of any type >>
Yup. Me too.
and for those of you that have'nt found a silver half; they're still out there. i've dug halves in just every place type of place you can detect in. found several without even having my detector on!

Thanks Tim,
I'm guessing that the crossed swords may be related to a brand name...
Top part appears to say "Sword" and bottom says "Make."
(but I may be wrong... could be related to military? )
