yeah, anything about the bugs is just a lame excuse. these guys are pros and if they let that get them distracted, well, they might not actually be worth the money they're being paid.
<<Great game, and Chamberlain showed he doesn't have the stuff needed to pitch in the postseason>>
Hey Fair Weather Fan, go sniff the Marinated thread once in awhile.
"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."
Okay, as the guy that started this thread I'm putting my foot down and saying, if you're not an Indians fan or a Yankee's fan (since we're playing them) either pick a team and talk about it or move on. Don't diss my guys just because your girlie men on the west coast can't cut it this year. Like to see you out there taking those pitches. In fact, I'd like to see you tell Hafner what you just told us and see what happens. I don't know you and I don't care to start anything, just pick a frickin team or move on. Period. And don't try to start crap here man because it ain't wanted.
Sincerely,
Friends of the committee to remove fairweather Johnsons from our great country
Give me a break already...you're going to sit there and tell me that you weren't thinking the exact same thing watching Hafner just sit there and not even swing?
Okay Axtell, I'm asking you politely to either talk encouraging about the Indians or move on. That's what this thread is for. I don't want any crappy negativity goin on here that's gonna interupt the process of the Indians taking this series. And neg crap from anyone is going to get us in the hole. So, from a die hard to I'm sure a die hard Mariners fan, take it up a notch on the encouraging side and down a notch on the neg. Thanks.
I am a die hard Indians fan, let's just take it all one day at a time, one game at a time, one inning at a time, and most importantly 1 batter at a time!
Congratulations to Cleveland and their fans. The starters were great. Your guys showed incredible talent out there for such a young team. It was shocking to me all of the two out hits with runners on you had. Maybe what stunned me even more was the unbelievable patience your guys showed at the plate. You guys bit on no bad pitches whatsoever throughout the series. I don't ever remember seeing that with such a young team. If you keep playing like this throughout the playoffs you will go all the way.
Ditto. You deserved it and your pitching in the series was outstanding. The Red Sox are going to have their hands full. I will be rooting for the Indians all the way. I want an Indians-Rockies WS.

JoBo had a very succinct comment about facing the Yanks and working as a closer. essentially, he said you can either go right at 'em or try to nibble the corners and walk batters, leaving yourself with men on and needing to come in fat. he chooses to go right at 'em from the get-go and the results are that teams will score runs but he'll almost always come out ahead. much is made about his inflated ERA but in reality most of that is based on a couple of games.
New York down and now Boston to go, it should be fun!!!!
Would never sell them as it might be that once in a life time opportunity. My kid is thinking about selling his rockie tickets for tonights game. I hope after the step-father friendly lecture he decides to go. Wants to sell them to buy WS tiks.
Byrd vs. Wakefield. Let's keep up the disciplined approach at the plate and string some hits together. Getting the early lead will put some more pressure on those Sox hitters.

I didn't see any other pitcher out there in those same circumstances struggling with the bugs.

Lame.
<< <i>Did I just see Hafner *look* at three straight strikes to end the game tonight?
Lame. >>
At least he had a post season at bat. How did Ichiro do tonight?

<< <i>Dude, I think you need to pick a side or move on. >>
Nobody's picking a side, but come on, he sits there with the bat on his shoulder for three straight pitches to end the game?
Weak sauce for sure.

Nobody's starting anything, except maybe you.
GO TRIBE!!!
Jeff
Geez, the Yanks win one game off a crappy pitcher, and the media has them raising a 27th banner already!
<< <i>Hey, who it this "Byrd" dude picting for the Tribe?? Get Sabathia, to finish them off!!

Of course they do, anyone who denies an east coast bias in the media is either asleep or drunk or both.

Hell, even against the Red Sox, the Fox/ESPN Yankee ass-kissing is nausiating. Glad we will now miss out on that in the ALCS.
Gonna be a fun couple of weeks at work as the lone Indians fan in the Shadow of Fenway Park! (10 minute walk from work)
The hospital has a raffle for game tix behind home plate $5 a pop. I might buy a dozen......
Very happy that Borowski didnt blow it...phew!
Our kids showed good patience and timely hitting, super effort by the bullpen and strong performances from most of the starters.

I still have WS tix though, which was my initial plan (to take my boy to a WS game).
Awesome.
Getting the early lead will put some more pressure on those Sox hitters.
Cleveland weatherman says showers end by 8p.
