Home Metal Detecting

What are your thoughts on this?

The only known example of the 1910-s U.S./Philippines ten centavo was on display at the Manila mint. When the Japanese bombed the mint in 1945 it was lost in the rubble. I wonder if anyone has ever taken a metal detector to that area in search of that coin. It would be against all odds finding that coin but can you imagine? Even in bad condition it would be worth the trouble.

Would be a fine hunt.. if indeed the ground is not built upon already... and if you had armed guards to protect you... not a friendly place right now... Cheers, RickO

Heck, even without finding that particular coin, it would be interesting to see what else could be found at the Manila mint site.
