None of them, and the continued free fall of the coin market shows you how overrated and overvalued 95+% of the certified U.S coin market really is.

Nothing is underrated in isolation but I agree with your sentiments. There are a few I think are decent values as a collectible but it is a very low proportion. However, when I see this question asked, it has usually been someone thinking what they collect is underrated.

The big head $5 golds. Many times scarcer than Draped Bust but priced the same.

If you look at a series as a whole perhaps few stand out looking back 10 years but I would say that truly choice coins with pristine surfaces regardless of grade, high eye appeal, old holders, etc, have all done quite well. Ugly “C” coins, boring widgets and basically any common coin in common condition has done poorly.

Two Cent coins, I can't imagine how many people have put together a full set, I know I haven't but would like to.

    On BS&T Now: Nothing.

The portrait isn't attractive but it is still my favorite US gold series. If I were ever to buy one, my first choice would be the 1823. It's the scarcest date I could conceivably buy.

Alot of research and my entertainment is watching Randy Campbell and John Roberts talk about DMPL's and VAM's respectively.

I have seen every FUN presentation for the past 20+ years!

There is a ton of experience between the two and very little they gave as picks rose in value very much.... which CladKing can appreciate

When you look at the 1989 coin market crash, some series (early coppers) sailed thru harmlessly for the most part.

Under rated (as opposed to under valued)?

Problem free key dates in popular series.

BST: KindaNewish (3/21/21), WQuarterFreddie (3/30/21), Meltdown (4/6/21), DBSTrader2 (5/5/21) AKA- unclemonkey on Blow Out

Proof V Nickels, Proof Indian Cents. Beautiful low Mintage coins, sometimes less than 5K, for a few hundred bucks.

I'll go with Civil War Tokens. Hopefully we'll see some good price increases in the next 10 years.

10 years ago, John Adams Bolen medals were cheap and now they go for hundreds to thousands. That's something that was undervalued 10 years ago that has shot up dramatically.

Let's all plan to be here in 10 years to see the results!

God forbid that nice coins sell for more.

ask someone here to show you their collection of draped bust half dimes, or classic head cents. that's underrated.

ask for morgans or bullion and the thread goes 100 posts long

    100 pages* long...
