The Lions don't have a "Super Bowl" ring, but they do have 4 NFL championships in their history. Sure, it was a long time ago but you live in the past so I will as well.

    Championship count -

    Lions = 4
    Bucs = 1

I'm confused... Isn't a championship a championship? Just because they market the game now as "The Super Bowl", it's still only a game to determine the NFL championship. I'm not, nor have I ever said the Lions were great. I cheer for them because they represent the state I am from. They suck most of the time and that's fine. I have no desire to pick teams from all over such as yourself. I did when I was five, but that was for the Bengals and their cool helmets. Again, I see you simply side-step the fact that you were wrong initially. Guess that's what you're all about.

I've never really looked into it. Could be both... or neither. Again, you both continue to talk about and live in the past but when others do, you chastize them for it. Lets talk about today. I guarantee the Lions will have a better record than the Bucs this year.

    I second that! Lions 5-11
    Yucs 3-13

EDIT to add, Stitzen before you jump down my throat again like you did before ( JasonA. I think? ) remember I am joking around calling them the Yucs, no offense really.

So says the guy who brings up ancient history?

No way the Lions with their inept management and ridiculous drafting strategies have a better record than the Bucs.

    Sig line bet perhaps?

I predict the Buccaneers will be the first NFL team to reach 10,000 losses.

Show me a Bucs fan who is knowledgeable about football and I'll show you a cute picture of Rosie O'Donnell - neither exists.

So says the guy who says the Eagles are the most successful NFL franchise in history.

    Hilarious.

I brought it up only because Kev and you always do, talking about a SB win some years ago. The Lions will have more wins, simply because the Bucs will be that bad. Detroit has enough talent to muster up 6 wins. Tampa has little talent and will not win 6 games. Sig line bets are lame. If I'm wrong, I can own up to it. I wont side-step and make excuses and then come back here with another alias.

The biggest problem with your post? Using the words 'Detroit' and 'talent' in the same sentence.

Well I guess as a Bucs fan, the word talent must seem foreign...

  • I'm sure as a Lions fan, the words 'winning season' must seem foreign.

Nope, you're wrong. I can easily say that the Lions have not had a "winning season" in some time... But I will concede that the concept of a "winning season" is foreign to me. But again, they will have "more wins" this season than the Bucs will have. They Lions will not make the playoffs, although it doesn't take an insider to know that. I think that 6 or possibly 7 wins isn't unrealistic, but still a stretch considering some of the teams on their schedule. I feel the Bucs will be right around 4.
    image
  • Wow, dreaming big with that 6 or 7 win prediction.

No way the Bucs finish with less than 8 wins, easily beating out the woeful Lions.

Not dreaming big, just being realistic... I see you don't have the ability to do the same. 8 for Tampa??? You must not only be dreaming, but likely drunk as well.

  • Drunk in expecting a team that's not that much different from the team that went 11-5 2 years ago?

The only one here drinking is you, sir, thinking that the Lions are capable of winning anything close to 6 games.

Again, you keep living in the past... Tampa won 11 games... "2 years ago". Last year they sucked almost as bad as Detroit, winning only 4 games. Who cares about 2 years ago? But even if we use your rationale, Detroit won 6 games 3 years ago. This team has improved at nearly every position since that time. 6 shouldn't be unrealistic at all. They have almost a completely different offensive line. 2 new RB's that are better than what they've had to back up Jones when he's hurt (usually). Tatum could even start if he's 80% of what he was in Denver. Calvin likely helps as at worst he's a third WR, and most likely way better than Mike Williams ever was. MacDonald adds to the receiving corps as well. Defensively any addition was an upgrade, which also includes and extra year of experience for most of their young players.

Concerning Tampa, they have a lousy offense but their defense should keep them competitive. They'll have to hold teams to 10 points or less to win most games because their offense will be lucky to muster that. They've added next to nothing on a lousy offense from last year, unless you consider Gay-cia an upgrade. Cadillac needs to return to his rookie form... Losing Alstott, the only guy that seemed to know what the endzone smelled like, has got to hurt them. Galloway is a pretty good WR, but Clayton sucks. On defense, they're obviously still pretty solid but not sure what's been happening with Simeon. Did he re-sign? They also lost White, a back-up (to Detroit) who showed some decent numbers in a limited role. A lot of pressure will be on Gaines to help pick up some slack... Too bad he doesn't play offense.

    Maybe I will be right?
  • Come on, the Bucs lost to the best team in football, and the defending super bowl champions. It's hardly a sign that the Bucs are headed towards a 3-13 season.

    Pull your head out already.

Earnest Graham as your feature back? Where is Joey Galloway been? Hey you cant fault a team for injuries but the Bucs are in trouble IMO
  • MorgothMorgoth Posts: 3,950 ✭✭✭
Seems they have hit the injury wall, in the weak NFC though they still might make the playoffs.

  • Graham will start this week, and there isn't much help out there available. Michael Turner might be, but I don't know if he's worth a first round pick which is what SD wants.

The rest of the NFC south is abysmal, so a 9 win season will likely win it. Carolina is plagued by injuries, Atlanta and NO are both god awful.

Agreed out of those losers TB has played the best by far. NO just amazes me how they can be that bad, they didn't have McCallister 2 years ago and weren't this bad.

Because he's been too busy calling out other "fans" rather than paying attention to his flavor of the month.

    Pathetic.

If Bucs can't beat a decimated Carolina team at home tomorrow, they will have successfully transitioned to official Suckdom again.
