Trying to make Cents of it all

New camera, trying to nail Abe. Could someone post some Lincoln pics, to see where I stand.

My second attempt, I believe I'm making progress.

Suggestion's welcome.

    Thanks for the reply.

Does it really capture the coin, looks the same inhand.

Just got the camera yesterday, and still playing around with it.

Very fine pics. What kind of camera?

Fuji FinePix S700, 7.1 MP, 10X optical zoom, and loads of features that I will explore.

$209 plus tax, I'm happy with it.

The pic was taken with no flash. I used natural light bulbs.

That right there is a great photo!

It's even good enough to see the re-punched mintmark #1 and the doubled die reverse!

    Cool coinimage

Nice photo's... a light filter might take some of the slight glare off the top of the coins.. Cheers, RickO
  • that is a really nice photo.... Abe would be proud.

I had no idea it's a RPM, and a DDR?? Are you serious?

I just looked at it with a loupe, guess I'm missing something?????????

I think it is, look at the links below. But it's not worth a fortune but still a neat find in unc with an RPM and double die reverse.

Look at the lower part of E PLURIBUS UNUM, look at the bottoms of the E, L, and all of the Us.

On the mintmark it should be a weak D/D with the second weak D north (above) the primary D.

Are you able to shoot on manual mode? If so, take the aperture (f-stop) to a stop 1-2 higher (i.e. f16 to f/22). Checking your white balance is also helpful. Experiment........it's digital! I have taken thousands of photos, and things change all the time.

Yes I do, trial and error. Failure is necessary, in order to succeed.
