20,000 coins

In June 2002 I pulled the detector I had bought the fall before out of the closet and started diggin'. I also started keeping track of my finds. My current total is 19,961. I hope number 20,000 is a keeper.

Do you still have your first coin?

I'm averaging 1,000 coins per year - and that's with spending a lot of time detecting to boot...
I can't imagine how I could reach 4,000 even for a single year except maybe by hitting beaches very heavily - and even then it would be tough!
