Is it just me, or is this for real?

    Either counterfeit or altered date.
  • It's a semi-common forgery/counterfeit/whatever.

    That's against the law.
    Love the 1885-CC Morgan
  • Also, note the filled letters in IGWT.

It's a chinese piece of chit.

I sent seller a note saying the same, with a nice "better take it off ebay before you get burned" explanation!

That's a silver eagle bullion coin, with alterred date. I question if it's even an authentic silver eagle. Maybe he bought these at a yard sale.

This takes stupid to a new level.

Nah, not a silver eagle with altered date. Just a piece of cast crappola.

Man was I shocked to see a trade dollar in his other items... imageimage

The Chinese are losing their "touch". Where's the "CC" mint mark underneath the eagle? It would sell better if it were 1906-CC.

A low quality piece of Chinese junk. And it isn't even made of silver.

Got that right! If I knew how to report them, I would (never done it before, would definitely do this one).

It's not a SAE at all. Friend of mine went to Hong Kong over a year ago and came back with one just like that, and a couple of others....he thought they were real, old, and worth some money. He paid less than $20 for 3-4 "coins". All, including a 1897 morgan, were fake. Not even silver.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

These are cheap, low quality counterfeits made from some sort of base metal and certainly not silver. Although I would not be surprised to see these coming through and out of China, I have heard that this 1906 Dollar design has been coming out of the Middle East.

Hijacked account maybe? $100 for optional insurance?
